Acoustic Neuroma Post Surgery? |
I have had AN surgery and now have a terrible feeling of disorientation. I feel like I am drugged and am not fully conscience. It is like I am not really awake or do not have a true feeling of being alive. My ear rings all the time, my ear and head feel plugged up. I do not understand why and my doctor has no answer. I had an AN surgery last year and felt the same symptoms you describe for the first month. Presently, I still have a constant ringing and a plugged up feeling in the affected ear from time to time, but it is nothing major. I have no restrictions and am doing everything I did before the surgery. Looking back on it, it just feels like it was all a big nightmare. Hang in there. I know it's scary and frustrating, but it WILL get better. Hope the acoustic Neuroma is done to remove DEAFNESS caused due to tumour in the sheath of the auditory NERVE. Pl. wait for healing & your doctor's advice Depending on the amount of vestibular function ( a space or a cavity that serves as a passageway ie: to the acoustic nerve, the hearing organ for amplified sound waves, basic explanation), there is present before the surgery, patients' may experience vertigo ( dizziness) and loss of balance ( imbalance) AFTER the surgery. Vestibular Rehabilitation may speed the recovery process from this. Has your Doc recommended this ?? |
