Acoustic Neuroma?

Ok, here's the thing.. I know this is what is going on, but my doctor refuses to give me a CT scan or MRI.. I have read thousands of articles on acoustic neuroma after everything else just didn't fit what is wrong with me the past 5 years.
In August of 2002, my hearing started going, gradual, not much.. figured I listened to my music too loud for too long, then all of a sudden, I got a severe attack of vertigo. It's not gone away since then, and now getting worse the last 2 months.
I have an almost constant ringing in my ear, and even a constant pain in my left ear (right ear is perfect btw), and vertigo is ever constant as well, as well as tingling in left side of face... I even have a sharp pain on the left side of my head just behind my ear. I am positive that there is something more going on then otosclerosis (which is only hearing loss). But my doctor keeps dodging the issue. I am going for a second opinion soon. Does this sound like acoustic neuroma to you?

3 days later and only one answer.. any more?

Meniere's disease can be like this. My father has that and tinnitus, between the two of us we believe this is what I have too. I have had the vertigo since forever and often get it with ringing. In the morning I am both partially deaf and painfully sensitive to any sound that I do hear!! My poor children, I am such a grump before noon!!
You poor thing, I hope you like your doctor offering the second oppinion

get your second opinion, but not here....inner ear problems, tinnitus etc. can cause many of these symptoms....but if you feel they are increasing, it may be something else....
