Will calamine lotion dry up acne?

Calamine lotion, when used on the face, has rather soothing properties. Although I don't use it, I am a regular shopper at Lush (www.lush.com) and they have a face soap that is really popular for acne that has calamine lotion in it. It is put in the soap to calm the skin and reduce inflammation/redness.

i think calamine only stops itchiness

it may not get rid of it but calamine does cool the skin and calms irritation and redness, it makes the blemishes less noticable
