Can Listerine mouthwash actually help acne and pimples???

i've heard this theory been used countless times and people have gotten great results? is it true, however?

i mean, if it is i'll take out a cotton ball and go for it.

please help.

I 've never heard that.... if you want to get rid of acne go to your local wal-mart or CVS and pick up PanOyxl 10% BAR. it used to be prescription. I have really bad acne ( or used to) and sensitive skin and this is the only thing that ever helped me.

dont think so...its for the mouth, not your face...itll dry your skin for sure, it has harsh chemicals not intended to be in your face...try anti acne agents like benzoyl peroxide or tretinoin....and wash your face at least twice a day with mild soap and water...dont wipe your face but just pat dry with towel...

no way
it makes you all red and irritated.
it is for killing bacteria but there is GOOD bacteria on your face.
it stips away your skin and messes up your natural moisture barrier

No, but it really gets rid of your bad breath!

I have never heard this and being a nurse in a derm office...I have heard a million home remedies for skin problems. I wouldn't advise using Listerine on the face, but I can see why someone might think it would work (because of all the alcohol in it) Use Clearasil or Clean and Clear on your acne and if those products aren't doing the trick then see a derm for prescription strength meds.
Good luck!

My cousin was troubled with acne as a teenager, and my grandmother took out the listerine and dabbed it on her blemishes each night, it worked!!

Not sure if Listerine would work, but Proactiv is really good. It worked for me. Good luck! order at www.procativ.com

Try this formula for acne- mix 50%warm pure honey and 50% almond oil.Apply to face during bedtime for 20 minutes, then wash off with warm water.Do this everyday, and your acne will vanish.
