Over the counter cures for Acne with rash (possibly excema)?

My face is always red red from an excema like rash, but excema medication only works for part of it.

I also have terrible pimples, which can be treated, but everything just keeps coming back, and I pretty much have to smear about 5 costly creams on my face about twice a day in order to look half-decent (not really "good")

Now that I'm no longer a stufdent, my medical bills would be even higher than they were before(Approx. $150.00/mo), which I simply can't afford, and now my face is just getting bad.

Do you know of anything that works, or is there anything that you can recommend?

Note: I really don't want to sign up for something like proactive or any other thing like that. I've tried Proactive to some avail, but I just want to be able to go to the pharmacy and get what I need. I don't want to sign up for memberships and get random $50.00 boxes of crap in the mail etc...

Drink a gallon of water per day, sip it gradually too much will bog you down. Carry a small bottle with you, fill it up as needed. Make sure you are caring properly for your digestive track, it filters the toxins in your body. Dannon Activia can help with that, I recommend the vanilla. Use a micro bead daily cleanser Wash warm Rinse cool this will improve your skin tone and keep out dirt by closing your pores, an alcohol free toner, and a non- greasy moisturizer. Aveeno has some wonderful products! The will also calm eczema.Get some sun, but don't forget sunscreen of course. This will help bring the oils to the surface, DON'T PICK!, Your daily exfoliating cleanser will take care of the rest. Don't forget to use your moisturizer with SPF of at least 15, it will keep your skin supple. After you get out in the sun you will notice your acne surfacing, this is the desired result, (trapping the oils under the skin is what causes all those deep bumps).and with a clean digestive system you'll see improvement over time.

Look into Dermalogica products. its OTC, but a bit on the pricey side.

A friend of mine used witch hazel which is not expensive at all. It didnt work for me, though. They only thing that worked for me was a prescription anitbiotic cream. If you have health insurance its not that expensive. it was actually only $10 (with insurance) for the RX which lasted a few months. I went to the Dr once and paid the co-pay & he gave me the Rx with 12 refills.

Are you exfoliating? Gotta do that. It's possible that the medications you've been using for your acne are causing the eczema to erupt. catch 22. Maybe the products are too harsh on your skin creating further problems. Have you tried witch hazel, as a toner? For immediate relief - cortisone (ointment) can help, but it thins the skin (easier to get skin cancer) so it would only be an immediate and short solution.
Make sure what you're using, all the cleaning products and make-up is non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). Many products do, try Aveeno and Neutrogena products. Don't touch your face, the oils from your fingers and can clog pores. Whats good about witch hazel is; it's cheap, keeps the moisture in and take off some of that dirt. If you sweat during the day, swab with some witch hazel.

You can try some tea tree soap, I get it at Alabu.com. You can try small samples to see if you like it. Read the testimonials, Good luck to you!
