Does Accutane really work for acne?

Does it get rid of scars?
How long does it take to work?
Does it have any sdie effects? If so, like what?

Accutane really works and clears up your skin. But the acne may come back after a period of time after you are done with taking it. I have been on accutane twice, and it cleared up my acne both times. Unfortunatly it started to come back after a few months. My skin doctor percribed Ziana-a new acne gel- and this works really well. I am also on ortho low -birth control to help balance my hormones and my acne is now gone. I also wash my face with Cetaphil and moisturize w/ Cetaphil. And no more acne.

If your acne is out of control, I reccomend Accutane. It will dry out your skin while on it so moisturize alot. It takes a good 6 weeks to see results. Yes it has several side effects, like alot of dryness of skin, dizziness, and u have to be on birth control, because it will cause deformities to a baby if you ever get pregnant while on this drug. Your skin doctor will explain everything.

It works pretty good on most people, But use cetaphil lotion on your face quite a bit because acctuane will dry out your skin really bad. Also wear sunblock on your face while your on it and carmex on your lips for burning and chapping.

Accutane really works for acne. It stops any new acne from happening after a couple months. Accutane doesn't change the texture of your skin, it won't remove scars. Microdermabrasion or laser therapies are best to lessen the scars. The side effects can be liver damage, so your doctor will check your liver a few times while you're taking it to make sure you're OK.

It worked great for me when I was 14.. within 3 months or so I was rid of acne. I didn't have any scars so I wouldn't know if it gets rid of them, but I don't think it would.

I remember it made my skin peel, so I had to use lotion a lot. Couldn't be in the direct sun for too long (though I can't remember why)... and they had to take blood once a month to check my liver.

It can cause severe birth defects and really should not be used by women of childbearing age.
