Has anyone ever taken the acne med called Erythromycin? Stomac help!? |
My doctor said that %10 of the people who take it has stomac cramps, i just started taking it and my stomac feels like its moving around more then normal.. Your doctor did not tell you the truth. Only 10% of patients prescribed antibiotics DON'T get your symptoms! Most people do get your symptoms. The problem is - how bad are the cramps? Can you tolerate them? If not, you will need to tell your family doctor, so he will change the prescription. One thing that is of the utmost importance. YOU must Take ALL the prescription. If you do not, the infection could return, and when it does, it will be even harder to get rid of and you could build up a "resistance" to antibiotics, and that could be very dangerous to your health and life. Make sure you are following the instructions on the label. You should be eating when you take this drug, I am quite sure. Taking it on an empty stomach will cause the symptoms you are experiencing. Like hunger pain i wanted my doc to give me that for it but as a topical med not internal... it does make u ill to your stomach but thats cause u have to eat while taking it, i tell the docs that im allergic to it because it makes my stomach upset, i dont like to feel like i wanna puke... but its a form of penicillin so its really not all that bad Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain are less serious side effects. You should take erythromycin with food or milk if you experience any of these side effects. Your GP would have told you that. You need to flush it out with 8 glasses of water. try topical solution like retinol cream |
