What's wrong with my boyfriend? Why is he still sick? |
Ok, my boyfriend started getting sick almost 2 weeks ago. He started out with vomiting, diahrea, cold/hot sweats, fever. I took him to the hospital 2 days later b/c he was not better and by that point his throat started to swell. The doctors just said it was strep throat. We thought he was getting better but still can't hardly eat anything b/c he keeps on throwing it up but mostly just throws up in the mornings when he wakes up. What could be wrong? Could it be acid reflux??? I am so worred about him b/c he has lost like 15 lbs and is weak and can't hardly eat. No, he is better from the other symptoms. He only has the vomiting in the mornings (says it's mostly stomach acid) and sometimes after he eats. He has only been drinking water to stay hydrated. Sorry about your boyfriend. It may be more to it than just strep throat. You may have to take him back to the hospital. He may need some extensive blood work done. Though signs of fever means there is an infection somewhere in the body. He is also vomiting and having diarrhea. This could be some kind of virus. If he continues to vomit and have diarrhea, cold/hot sweats, he will eventually become dehydrated because he is losing all of his electrolytes. He will need some antibiotic and IV therapy for the infection and dehydration. Bring him back to the hospital. Don't just take with they say and run with it. I am a nurse and sometimes, (I'm sorry to say), Some doctors will say and prescribe anything just to get rid of you. Be persistant, and let them know something is going on and you can't leave until this something is taken care of. Good luck and God bless. Get him to the ER ASAP. He needs to go back to the doctor. Make an appointment today. He needs to tell them what is going on so they can get him in ASAP. go back to the dr, let them know that you are concerned, then they will run more tests becuase its obvious that it has gotten worse or it isnt strep at all....just make sure he stays hydrated becuase u can dehydrate alot faster with a sore throat. HE could have a stomach problem, you need to go back to the doctor and let then run some test on him. |
