Health and Beer Question? |
My husband has recently started Nexium for Acid Reflux. Last night he had a couple of Michelob Ultra beers and woke up in teh middle of the night with horrible stomach pains, bloating. Has anyone else had this happen? He ate the same thing he usually does, could it be whatever they do to the beer to make it so low carb? beer is one of the worst things for acid reflux. he needs to knock that off or have just one or a small glass early in the evening. Tums for the tummy. It's the alcohol in the beer.......enough to make any GERD sufferer SUFFER!!!!! Try Gaviscon shooters at the bedside. when you are on medication you shouldnt mix it with anytype of liquor because the medicine wont work ow from my experience with my dad.. alcohol is horrible when your sick!!! DUH!!! you should know that! I learned that in 5th grade! Beer can cause stomach and liver problems--and make pre-existing ones even worse! You get so gassy your stomach hurts? It happens. i'd stay away from beer. lo-carb doesn't matter. its probably the yeast in it. Could be. Who knows what they might put in that type of beer. I've been drinking "light" beers since they came out many years ago with no problems. Each can or bottle contains approximately 50-60 calories less than the regular beers. stay away from the booze-and he'll see the diff-didn't your doc tell you that-my guy is a pain in the a-- too i told him -his doc told him-but he refuses to Liston-thinks we are all crazy-so drink & suffer! I dont know anything about acid reflux,or in fact anything to do with stomach acid at all,but i DO know that beer IS good for the digestive system, that it contains the "B" vitamins(in the yeast-it makes you "go"as it were!!!)and also "D" and "E"(containing some essential proteins we need)So please people don't knock the beer, its good for you--in moderation of course!! |
