Help!!!!stomach question?

I am a 21 year old male overweight, and I am worried about a bulge on my stomach. MY stomach sticks out a good amount. The bottom of my stomach is soft and flabby. But above my belly button, it seems kinda hard. I can push in a bit, but thats it. there seems to be a bulge of some sort. I feel something there, and kinda worried about it. You can't see the bulge stick out of the skin or anything, but when i push on it i feel something. What could it be?
Any chance of like a stomach tumor or something like that? Should I be worried about it. Also I have been gassy as of late. And When I eat late at night I get acid reflux, not sure if that means anything. I don't have health coverage, so I don't wanna go to the doctors for no reason and pay alot of money. Anyone have the same problem... I am not having any pain or anything. Also its not like a big bulge or anything above my belly button, but just kinda hard there. Is that normal for that part to be kinda hard, me being overweight?

so what is that...And do i need to get treated for it. Any surgery? is it normal for me having that? Also I have 2 bones that stick out right below my chest, one on my left side and one on my right which is my breast plate bone and ribcage. But I thought you could only visually see it popping out on skinny people..I am overweight, and you can see the 2 bones sticking out..Is that normal? Is it normal for my stomach to stick out a good amount, even thought im not hugely overweight. And what are the chances of a 21 year old getting stomach cancer or a tumor in the stomach of any kind. I am worried about ti with the bulge part...TY.

Sounds like a hernia to me...

you have a herrniea

From what your saying it may be a hernia. Go to the doctors to be sure. If it is get the operation to correct it or else you can strangulate yourself (intestines breaking through your abdominal wall).

If it flattens out when you lie down, it's probably a hernia. That's a strange place to get one, unless you had an umbilical hernia that never corrected itself when you were born.

Weight loss is probably the best treatment for your hernia. I had a hernia from a c-section incision, and insurance wouldn't cover it (it was considered an elective surgery, because it wasn't life-threatening). I lost 80 lbs and the problem totally corrected itself.

A hernia can become strangulated. That's when the loop of intestine won't fit back through the hole in the muscle wall, and the contents start to rot. That's actually a life-threatening condition. You would know if that happened, because of the pain.

Just so you know, if you do have a medical emergency, you can go to an emergency room for treatment, even without medical insurance. They bill you later, unlike a doctor who you have to pay up front. It is a lot more than just seeing a doctor, but if you are only able to pay a little bit at a time, the hospital can't really do anything to you for it.

The bulge in your stomach might be due to a hiatal hernia. Hernia occurs when one part of the body protrudes through a gap or opening into another part. A hiatal hernia forms at the opening in your diaphragm where your food pipe (esophagus) joins your stomach. Part of the stomach pushes through this opening causing a hiatal hernia.

Most small hiatal hernias don't cause problems, and you may never know you have a hiatal hernia unless your doctor discovers it when checking for another condition. But a large hiatal hernia can allow food and acid to back up into your esophagus, leading to heartburn and chest pain. Self-care measures or medications can usually relieve these symptoms, although very large hiatal hernias sometimes need surgical repair

More often than not, hiatal hernias can be painful. And in as much as you stated that you are not in pain; I seriously doubt that you have a large one requiring surgery. No, you don't have tumor. Another possible cause might just be that you are having indigestion or dyspepsia because of the gassiness or even constipation. Both of these instances can cause bloatiness and gassiness. Drink a lot of fluids and water and eat some prunes.

Another possible cause might be gastroesophageal reflux disorder or GERD for your acid reflux. Try to eat in small meals . Avoid talking and eating at the same time. Avoid the foods that would trigger these such as onions, potatoes,;etc.

Now about your ribs, if there is no discomfort or pain upon inspiration; i wouldn't worry about it. .Most likely, the protusion is due to scoliosis. Often times; adult scoliosis develops in adolescence, and is the "idiopathic" variety, which means it occurs for no apparent reason.

Try to relax. By worrying too much; you could make yourself sick because of the undue stress.and anxiety.

It does sound like a tumor or hernia. I would go to a health clinic. I don't know where you live, but here where I am (central California)we have clinics in ever city for people who do not have insurance. They charge you 95.00 up front, and for that fee, they will take care of whatever problems you have.
Another good place you can go for medical advice is web MD. I hope this has helped you in some way.
