| *Home>>>Acid Reflux |
I feel like I've tried everything my dad is fat and won't help himself, what can I do? He's in denial. |
I know a lot about nutrition and my sister is a trainee nurse, we have warned him about heart disease and diabetes etc, he doesn't seem to take it on board? He already has acid reflux, and is on meds for that. I'm so worried about him he's probably classed as obese now, he doesn't like to see food "wasted" even if that means eating half a trifle because it was left over after having people round. He has gotten steadily bigger over the past year or so, although he's always had a belly, it just seems to have gotten worse. He doesn't listen to my mother either as he feels like she is nagging him. He used to go to the gym but hasn't done so for a few years and seems to have no inclination to go back. It worries me. A lot. I don't want my father to be obese, and become sick because of it. Good luck with that. My hubby is the same way. He is not obese (yet), but is at least 35 lbs over weight. He takes pills for high cholesterol, pills for high blood pressure, and has just been diagnosed with diabetes. He gets offended when I try and help him eat properly. I said to him one day that I don't fancy becoming a widow at age 50. He seems to at least be trying to eat better now. |
