Extremely tired?


I'm 17 years old.
For the past few months, I've been experiencing anxiety; I'm worried about my health. I had my mitral valve repaired when I was 7 years old, and I've been to the cardiologist within the past few months and everything checks out fine -- I only have extremely minimal leakage, which is normal (they don't close the hole all the way). I've had chest pains and pains in my left arm before, along with shortness of breath, and my doctor said that it was not heart-related. I got the pains again today, and I had trouble breathing, only the pains were pretty severe and lasted almost all day. My doctor said I had GERD/Acid Reflux as well, which I had as a baby too. I've been going to the chiropractor for about the past month, and I have a misaligned rib; I'm pretty sure that this can cause chest pain. But today I'm SO tired. I've been tired for the past few days as well, and I'm usually a little fatigued due to hyperthyroidism.

Is this due to stress/anxiety or something else?

The rib problem can definitely cause chest pain, but it could also be caused by spasms in your arteries. That would be transient and wouldn't necessarily show up on an ECG; it would cause pain; and it could also cause you to feel tired. But any time you have chest pain -- especially if you have a cardiac history -- you should contact your cardiologist. Good luck!

I'm not a doctor, but If I were you I would get to another Doctor right away for a second opinion, If for no other reason than to have peace of mind.

I would love to see you start learning about stress. It is so high on our college campus that the nurse has created handouts for students which they can pick up anywhere on campus.

Please start by looking up "homeopathy" on the internet. It is a natural healing herbal supplement that Hahneman Hospital in Philadelphia was named after. The royal family of England all use homeopathy. You will find that they have a very inexpensive supplement for stress. They also have one for gastric reflex. Aloe Vera also works well as a drink to heal the gastrointestional area. Also, please consider exercise of any kind, whatever works for you; swimming, walking, fitness club, etc. Most important, start looking at what is stressing you and create ways to deal with the stress. You are in control of your body, it's a great learning process and you will love the results when you see what you can do for you.
