Still having a sore throat, a runny nose at night and in the morning.?

Ok, im reposting because earlier the question was not answered. I've been having a sore throat (actually more like itchy throat with 7 red spots right behind the tonsils and 1 big one on the tonsil itself that actually looks like a mosquito bite) for about 6 weeks now along with the runny nose. 4 weeks ago i went to a doctor and was prescribed antibiotics which did not do anything. The symptoms usually occur in the morning or before going to bed at night. Sometimes my throat itches so badly that it makes me wake up. I went to the ear, nose and throat doctor 3 days ago and he said it was reflux which is stomach acid in the throat. I was prescribed a medicine called prevacid that slows down the acid production and I've been taking it for 3 days now, eating right, going to sleep 3 hours or more after eating and I still have these nasty symptoms. I read about this disease symptoms of which are hoarseness, trouble swallowing, throat mucus, chronic cough and heartburn (most common one)

If its what the doctor says it is why is it that I don't have any of them. For the past month not even for a second I had a heartburn. Also I read that people who have that can actually taste the acid sometimes. I can't, not even at night. I really think the diagnose was incorrect. My question is what could it be because i can't afford to go to another doctor and pay almost 200 bucks for the medicine that won't do anything?

OK. I can't really tell what the problem is, whether it's infection or allergies, so what I would do is, gargle with salt water for your sore throat, and take an antihistamine. If it is actually reflux, what a lot of people don't know is that prevacid and other antacids don't really cure you. What your stomach is lacking is something which vinegar has. Actually, I have been known to drink a shot of vinegar for a sore throat also. Believe it or not, that works sometimes too, depending on what is making your throat sore. You can also buy cloraseptic over the counter which should help the itchy throat.

I think you're allergic to dust mites. Try getting a dist mite barrier for your mattress and pillows (availible at any wal-mart type store next to the sheets) and wash your blankets and sheets in HOT water and dry on HOT once per week.

gargle with saline(<---spelling?) ,,, boiled water with salt. gargle while its still warm (as you can tolerate) and drink plenty of water

see if it works for you

or the answerer above could be right
