Acid reflux most least damaging alcohol to drink? |
If you have acid reflux what is the least damaging or acid creating form of alcohol? I heard white wine is the best if you have acid reflux and beer is bad as well as liquor. And what should you do before drinking alcohol? Eat bread or drink water before? Take a tums tablet? I know its bad for you but what is the least acid creating form of alcohol? Im not talking about a daily alcoholic drinker, just on the weekends and not a lot of it either. Maybe 2 cups of wine. I'm using Vodka and mixing it with a lot of 7-up or Sprite Actually, wine can be very acidic. One of the processes in wineries is to assure that wine maintains certain acidity. This is also one of the reasons red wine is considered healthy for your heart to some extent. If you have acid reflux, depending on how long you've had it, you might have erosions in your esophagus that will be irritated with any type of carbonated or alcoholic drink. The best thing to do is not drink alcohol at all as this will cause further irritation. Eating bread will only help absorb the fluid and could very possibly but probably not reduce the symptoms of your GERD. Abstain if possible for the sake of your comfort and the future of your esophagus. Good luck. the best type of alchol 4 u 2 is called Jefferson's Wine its great and cheap, u can get it at walmart. Also before u drink it u should eat a banana and a slice of bread then when u finish u should drink 4 glasses of water. But is it really worth it? If you are drinking wine, how do you feel? If you are not a heavy drinker, why bother drinking if it causes your acid reflux to act up? i have that problem too, i found the answer in white russians Have a glass of milk before hand and something solid but not heavy (pasta based is good) to line your stomach. You're going to think this is terrible, but try scotch and milk, it really does help. Also, most other milk drinks can be much less acidic. Try a Mississippi Mud Slide, you can by it already made in the bottle, or you could try B-52's, but sparingly. If you cannot tollerate the alcohol, don't drink it. It's not good for you anyway. Just don't drink alcoholic beverages. you don't need to drink if you have acid reflux it aggravates it and only cause more problems, if you must drink take a Zantac before you drink i hear that works good. |
