Acid Reflux problem.?

Started having problems with acid reflux due to taking motrin 800mg had to take them 4 times a day. Now I have this damn acid reflux problem. Been taking all sorts of medication and doctor put me on Nexium now. I was wondering is there anything Natural out there you can take every pill I take seems to develop another problem or make it even worse. I have it really really bad had choked on it before. Please help !!!!!

I was interested to see the person that wrote about dill pickles helping. It definitely is the vinegar. I had struggled with heartburn and acid reflux so severe since I was a teenager that I had tried just about every medication that has been on the market for decades. I have a lot of allergies, and have to be careful of a great deal of medications because of these difficulties. A nurse who is a friend of mine and is very studied in the area of holistic medicine, suggested that I take cider vinegar tablets. The change for the better has been incredible! The brand that I buy is a Natures Bounty product and is available at Rite Aid in my area. Their website is www.NaturesBounty.com if you cannot find them near you. I take two of these tablets every morning, and it has improved my heartburn and reflux problems about 90%. It is so much safer than a lot of the chemical compounds that are in some of the prescribed products. The other 10% of the time, which is when I know I am going out for the occasional spicy food leading to heartburn meal, I will take a couple of spoonfuls of actual apple cider vinegar and that will do the trick. This has even helped my ability to get a good nights sleep, which is always a good thing. I saw a major difference in less than a week, and now cannot remember how many months have gone by without that awful feeling of the burning being so bad you either think you are going to be sick to your stomach, or you are having a heart attack. It really is amazing, and will work for almost everyone without shutting down all your stomach acid, which is not a good long term solution as it will lead to digestive problems. Give it a try and best of luck!

see a phsyician immediatley.
also take acid reflux medication
change your diet

OMG!! Im soo sorry to hear, my fiance has that problem as well.. try going to the doctor's... your esophagus maybe messed up by your stomach acid. You may have to get a endoscopy done to see whats wrong.

I had surgery to correct mine but I still have flare ups. I find that eating dill pickles helps. I think it 's because of the vinegar countering the acid.

Try something as simple as Tums.

Don't eat overly spicy or greasy foods, and drink alot of water.

After you take that awhile you might heal enough to go off it, if you avoid caffeine and spicy food. I have to stay on Nexium and it has changed my life, I am grateful to have it, before Nexium came along I tried everything for relief!

Aloevera juice made mine worse! What works for one does not always work for everyone!

There are many different meds you can take for AR, some work better than others. I went through 3 or 4 before I was put on Protonix. They work well, but very costly, up to $3/pill. If you have trouble swallowing pills there are liquid meds you can take.

Aloe vera juice is the answer. I used to have the same problem as you do but after I have been drinking aloe juice for a week, its all gone. It does make a difference. Go immediately to the pharmacy , run as fast as your little legs will carry you!! You will be amazed.

Go to www.drmurray.com for info on natural ways to deal with the problem. of course you'll need to avoid these foods until the problem resolves itself.Mint, citrus, tomatoes( ketchup too) and other acidic veggies, fruits and juices especially orange& lemon, vinegar, coffee, all soda including plain club soda, black tea, garlic, chocolate ,onions and hot spices.

Nexium will heal you esophagus which can erode from the acid reflex, if this erosion isn't stopped you can develop esophageal cancer and there is a very low survival rate with that type of cancer.

"Sue F" has a really great answer....I also have a friend that is into all natural everything....I have had acid reflux problems for yrs. even with the prescribed meds, there are days it is unbelievable how bad it is....my friend told me to drink dill pickle juice to begin with...I didn't believe her at all....but I was in such pain I thought seriously what could it hurt...except give me worse heart burn...I took 3 tablespoons of the dill pickle juice and I could not believe the difference.....totally amazed....I felt better within a couple of mins.....I have not tried the apple cider pills "Sue F" spoke about, but that would help immensely....if you are not able to take the perscribed meds....I just use the dill pickle juice periodically.....Also I would ask your doctor about the problems you are still having......I do agree not all prescribes meds work for everyone, and not all natural things work for everyone.....
Good Luck.....Hope you feel better soon!!!!!
~Peace~
