Dwarfism?? |
ok my boyfriends mum is a Dwarf (Achondroplasia) his brother also has this. If me and my boyfriend were to have children is there a chance that they could inherit this too?? There is a 50/50 chance of the gene being passed down although your boyfriend did not fully inherit the dwarfism. Chances are likely, but that's not the real issue, bringing a baby into the world is hard enough without worrying how tall he/she is going to be....children are a big step, should you decide to take it....just know that above all, a child needs love. Not likely. Achondroplasia is a dominant genotype, meaning that if your boyfriend were a carrier, he would have the condition. Although there is no way to tell the genes your boyfriend has, he cannot be a carrier of the disease because it is a dominant disorder, so one bad copy of the gene would mean he is a dwarf also. So 0% Chance |
