Worried Tooth Abcess? |
Last week I lost a filling and it hurt. But then it got better. But last night it got worse and I think it may be abscessing. There is no way I can get to a dentist unti later in the week. I don't have transportation nor insurance and I need my brother to take me and his schedule is very busy being a young single dad and also dealing with a recent cancer diagnosis himself. Which is much more scary that teeth. But I was researching on the internet since I hurt too much to sleep and all I found were horror stories. If the tooth is abscessing there is nothing you can do to stop the process. Get to the dentist when you can, this is not going to be terminal overnight or even in a few days. Do the best you can to stay comfortable with over the counter medication (don't take old medication). Call your dentist to tell him/her what is happening and your dilemma about lack of transportation, they may opt to give you an antiobiotic without seeing you if you are a patient of record. If they can call in the prescription your brother could pick it up or have the pharmacy deliver it. Sleep sitting up and try to minimize your worrying, it won't help... youve got any potential help all boxed up- get a taxi if its that worrying, or a bus................reckon youre just procrastinating. Yeah you need to hurry up and get to a dentist. Don't you have a friend, co-worker or maybe a neighbor that you can call on to have them take you? I know I have a molar that I need fixed myself. Thankfully I'm not in pain, but after reading your question, I need it fixed! You may likely need a root canal and crown. That's what I had done on one molar, and now I need the same done on the other. It sucks, but this is nothing to procrastinate on, so get to the dentist asap before things get worse! |
