Can my tooth be tightened back? |
3 months ago i had a tooth abscess after being prescribed antibiotics twice the swelling was still there now after 3weeks more the swelling is gone but now my tooth is very loose you are going to loose this tooth. antibiotics are a temporary fix. they allow us to decrease the infection enough to releive pain/swell and be able to get the tooth numb so we can work on it. it is loose because the infection has caused you to loose the bone around the root of the tooth. you now have a chronic abscess and most likely a root canal will not fix it. your tooth is nonrestoravle by any ethical dentist's standards, go get it taken care of before you end up in the hospital. i am not a dentist. go ask him Have you been seeing a dentist? You should have been put on antibiotics yes, but twice? You should either have this tooth root canaled or extracted. Sometimes when you have that much swelling and infection it causes the tooth to bulge out of the socket and become loose. I would suspect that you also have periodontal disease which helped contribute to the abscess. You should be seeing a dentist, if you have not already. IF the tooth is loose your prob. have bone loss and need immediate attention. Taking antibiotics is a 'bandage' solution to the problem. Your tooth is the source of infection, and it needs to be dealt with to prevent the infection from ever coming back. This means getting a root canal or extracting it. As far as your tooth 'tightening' up, this can only be determined by having your doctor take an x-ray and evaluating how much bone is left around your tooth. |
