C-Diff Go Away by Itself?? |
Does it? I felt really crappy the last few days, I had taken Clindamycin for my tooth abscess and it has cleared up, my question though I had mild/moderate diarrhea then got constipated, now Im starting to have stools again today. I am feeling way better today than I was yesterday by far I thought I was going to die. I am supposed to "deliver" a sample to the hospital so my doc can check me for c-diff...but he wants the diarrhea sample, I haven't had any to give in a few days. Not sure what to think, I'm just scared of feeling like I did for the past two days...I felt great for a week and then bam for two days, then last night and today I have felt better. Thanks for any input guys! You probably just had antibiotic related stomach problems but I would give the stool sample anyways. C diff is a dangerous ailment although if you have not been hospitalized or on antibiotics for more that two weeks then you probably do not have c diff since you now feel better. if you took clindamycin and took the entire course, it is doubtful that you have c-diff. If you did, it would not go away by itself. Just take a sample of diarhea in if it occurs again to be safe. c-diff will not go away on its own and needs to be treated or your crappy feeling will get worse. you need to provide a sample if possible. C-difficile is a serious illness that can leave you ill for weeks. A temporary bout of diarrhea is very commonly caused by food poisoning. If you're already feeling better, that's good news. Make sure you rehydrate yourself well. |
