Tosillitis?

I don't know why but I keep on having tonsillitis this year. I do not understand why it's like this. I get this kind of thing like when I'm about to have a flu/cold. Like last night, I sneezed so hard many times like my nose's gonna come off my face. And when I woke up this morning, my tonsils hurt again. I know that the tonsils are part of our immune system but is this normal? I gave birth last 2005. Does that have anything to do with it? Because it's only happening this year that I'm like having tonsillitis every month. And I've read that it's dangerous if the case is like this because the abscess' gonna go to the heart and will create an infection. I don't like the sound of it. Help.

Tonsillitis simply means "swollen tonsils." It does not necessarily mean they are infected. If you're sneezing a lot, it can irritate your tonsils and cause swelling. I'd try taking something like Claritin every day for a few weeks to see if it helps. And gargle with salt water or colloidal silver to ease the discomfort in your tonsils.

My allergies got a lot worse after I started having kids for some reason. I kept getting sick over and over until I started taking allergy meds.

Avoid the tonsilectomy if at all possible. You need your tonsils to fight infection.

Go to the Dr.

You probably need to have them removed. Go to an ear nose and throat doctor.

Seeing a doctor is the first move. You're right, this isn't normal. I wonder if you *really* have tonsillitis once a month, though, or if your tonsils are infected in any other way/sensitive/enlarged. Tonsillitis takes a couple of weeks, even longer, to get rid of without medication, you run a fever and your throat is sore and swollen and since tonsillitis usually involves streptococci bacteria, it's not an infection to be taking lightly. 'Nuff said. Go see a doctor asap.

You have a small kid and it's well known that parents of small kids get sicker more often than others, since the kids pick up all kinds of viruses and bacteria and bring them home. Sometimes, an infection can *ping-pong* between family members for quite a while. It also happens that the kid doesn't get sick, he/she just carries the infection.

If there's a way to avoid it, keep your tonsils. If the doctor says you should have them removed, get a second opinion. Your tonsils play an imporant part in your immune defense, and you'll still be able to get throat infections after.
