Need info about migraines, swollen groin lymph node? |
i have had excruciating pain in my neck and head. migraines have been taking over for the past 3 days! and i have this abscess that is on my lowers abdomain and to the left. the infection is up to my ribs and almost to my hip. i have an extremely high fever. any suggestions. going to the doctor tomorrow. p.s. i was told previously to let it open up on its own. and my left groin lymph node is swollen. anyone know what could be causing this pain and discomfort! greatly appreciated I certainly wouldn't wait to see your doctor tomorrow - go to the hospital tonight! The absess is not necessarily the main issue, maybe a symptom. If your fever is high - above 103 and remains high - you should be seen tonight. If this is indeed a staph infection - the absess - it is moving too fast for you to wait. It could turn into blood poisoning so don't wait! Of course we can help. These may be symptoms of Hodgkin's disease, which predominantly strikes young men. I would not worry too much, though. Swollen glands are more likely due to the body fighting an infection (as is fever). Your doctor's appt. tomorrow should put your fears to rest. Even if it turns out to be Hodgkin's Disease, it is highly treatable. Sounds like an infection to me :) lymph glands are part of the filtering system of the body, you may have to have it removed if it''s bothering you that much, usually they will biopsy it , just means whether or not it is malignant for cancer etc. could be associated with your migrains, have you had a complete blood work up done, that will show a lot. The migraines are not the problem. |
