How Exactly do doctors drain abscesses? |
I have an abscess on the right side of my torso and yesterday he froze the area and made an incision and drained the pus. Then he put something inside it might be gauze and told me to come back the next day to change it. The stuff he put on me is sticky and i can't see cleary but its stuck to my bandage and skin and the area is really sensitive and it hurts when i try to pull it a bit. Is he going to rip it off?? He probably stuffed the wound with gauze soaked in sterile water, then topped it with an antiseptic and dry gauze. Been there, done that. Your first answer you received was exactly as she said.
