What are the symptoms of a throat abscesses?

I had a peritonsillar abscess! My tonsil was Green and Fuzzy with red spots on it! I also had a systemic fever! I took Clindamycin and it cleared up in about a week. They wanted to drain my tonsil, cut it and drain it out. I didnt do that as I had no insurance. It would have made it clear up faster.

Also, I couldnt stand up for very long when I had it. I was dizzy from the systemic fever.

Well an abscess is a hole... do you have a visible hole in the back of your throat?
