I had a peritonsillar abscess drained on thursday. it's sunday now. i feel better overall (no fever)? |
but when i looked at my throat today i saw 2 more white spots in different places than where the abscess was. are these additional abscesses? i have been on antibiotics since thursday. is there a chance these are additional abscesses or can you only have one at a time? i guess i don't know what they look like because the first was 'hidden'? The peritonsillar abscess you had was probably due to a tonsillitis that got out of hand. Chances are with the abscess drained and healing properly, you still may have a mild case of tonsillitis. Give the antibiotics a few more days to help and these spots should clear up. Give the antibiotics until they run out and if you're still concerned give your doctor a call. If you're not running a fever and feel good then you probably don't have an infection! |
