I had a peritonsillar abscess drained on thursday. it's sunday now. i feel better overall (no fever)?

but when i looked at my throat today i saw 2 more white spots in different places than where the abscess was. are these additional abscesses? i have been on antibiotics since thursday. is there a chance these are additional abscesses or can you only have one at a time? i guess i don't know what they look like because the first was 'hidden'?

The peritonsillar abscess you had was probably due to a tonsillitis that got out of hand. Chances are with the abscess drained and healing properly, you still may have a mild case of tonsillitis. Give the antibiotics a few more days to help and these spots should clear up.
And to answer your question, yes you can have more than one abscess at a time but this doesnt sound like the case in your situation. Due to the lack of fever and "feeling better overall" statement, you are gonna heal just fine.
Dont forget to follow up with the E.N.T. that did the surgery.

Give the antibiotics until they run out and if you're still concerned give your doctor a call. If you're not running a fever and feel good then you probably don't have an infection!
