Abscess or not? |
I seem to be having a lot of teeth problems lately... Sounds like an abscess. If you call the dentist and say that you now have a small white pimple near the tooth, they will most likely get you in for a quick look, if nothing else. After seeing it, they may prescribe an antibiotic to get things under control. Or, they may go ahead and initiate whatever treatment you need or make an appropriate referral to a specialist. are you running a fever? an abscess is an infection, and not to be messed around with. try to get an earlier appt. with your dentist. tell them what you fear is wrong. If it gets into your bloodstream it can make you really sick. and only certain antibiotics can help. Dont take a chance. It sounds like an Abscess. One night about 10 years ago i feel off my bed and had hit my mouth on the night table. This was on a sat. sat night i felt mouth pain like i never felt. No dentist was open on Sunday and so i took pain killers and nothing helped. it was horrible. Went to the dentist who in turn sent me to a specialist. found out that the root was dead, but the pressure was what was really hurting me. He had to drill with out meds and the second the drill hit my tooth and all the fluid was released, the pain went right away. Go see a dentist right away. maybe you will be able to avoid all the pain that i had to endure. Good luck. Don't mean to use the traditional scare tactics, but get it checked out ASAP. What starts out as a little abscess can turn into an ugly infection, quick. A friend of mine had an abscessed tooth & didn't get it taken care of right away. Well it spread, ended up blocking his airway....he had to be put on a ventilator and almost died! So, don't risk it and get to the dentist ASAP...call them and let them know what's going on & they should be able to squeeze you in. Better to be safe then sorry. |
