Abscessed Pulled, hurts to swallow? |
just had an abscessed primary (baby) tooth pulled, right lower side molar. I have been on antibiotics since Mon, June 6th and still have the abscess which the doc said it was ok to pull... I am just wondering is is normal to feel some pain when touching the underside of my jaw and when I swallow it hurts a little bit on that side? I dont look swollen when I look in the mirror and the pain is slowly subsiding. Thanks for all the info, it is GREATLY appreciated. If the pain is lessening then the antibiotics are beginning to work, don't worried. If the pain is getting worse the antibiotic isn't working you may need a stronger one. Yes it is normal |

It's either an infection or an abscess- you need to see a professional to get diagnosed. If it is an abscess it's not going to go away on it's own and while antibiotics might make it... it usually takes 24-48 hrs for the antibiotics to kick in. If you have a slow metabolism.. it may take longer. The good news is that since you are all swelled up .. there is no pain! If you to get ... It should not be a matter of more antibiotics, and I doubt if this will help you. In fact, you may just end back up in ER unless the cause of the continuing abscess has been properly addressed. I ... call the dentist's office and she will be able to tell you ...so your saying you have a right AND a left anus?? ...Take it from someone who has had PLENTY of abscesses in her day, you do not have one. It sounds like the food that you got caught between your gum and tooth just irritated your wisdom tooth which i... Forget the MD... get your butt to the ER. Sounds like the infection has gotten out of control. Good luck! ...Yes this can happen, so go for surgery. Good Luck ... |
