Can an abscess on your buttocks cause an swollen lymph node? |
I notice when my menstrual cycle came closer I started developing this boil on my buttocks and then just mid-way through my cycle I notice on my far right side on my groin a lump. I went to the doctor and I had an abscess on my right buttocks and he made an incesion and drained it, he said that what was on my right side was a swollen lymph node, because the abscess made the lymph node swell. I was given antibotics and he said that the swollen lymph node should go away when the abscess fully heals. Have anyone ever heard of this? yes i have heard of it my hubby had one and for some reason the lymph node didnt go down and he go 2 more. What caused the boil? Your skin is an organ: if you have an infection on your skin, the nerves and blood vessels will respond---by making white blood cells to fight the infection. The lymph nodes are part of this defense system. Be sure to take all your antibiotics! Take them until they are completely gone. Also, you should be using Neosporin ointment on the drain site. |
