What are your opinions on abortion?

Are you for or against women having an abortion depending on how they got pregnant? What are your feelings on state laws? Is it sinful to get an abortion? What are your opinions on abortions? Please tell, the longer the answer the more I appreciate it. I know this is a complex issue, thank you for taking the time to answer this. Please, though, no one reply just to get a few points.

Does it matter what the state laws are?and as for the reason for being pregnant,it really dont matter,and yes darling it is a sin to kill your baby, look you already know the answer to your own question,you know that when judgment day comes ,and your standing before( GOD) your own creater he is not going to except,murder,as a solution to your ,un wanted ,un expected misshap in your life.god ,does not put upon any person ,that what he or she cannot bear ,your mother didnt abort you ,if she had then what,well you wouldnt be here on your computer asking a question you already know the answer too,i play with the hand i was dealt,if its a great hand then i play it ,if its a bad hand then ,i dont fold i bluff,so in otherwords ,i deal with what ever comes my way ,i miscarried when i was 15,i wanted that baby ,but my god intervened and took my baby back,i Had a dream of my baby that i would have one day /w-my first love at 13 yrs old ,he was 15,in my dream i saw our baby she looked just like her daddy ,she was beautifull,her face stayed in my mind for 6 yrs untill i had her, she looked exactly like i had allways saw her in my mind,i would have never considered abortion,i cant even comprehend how women could even think about doing it,it is murdering a precious gift from god ,and no matter how you got pregnant,if it was rape!,the baby didnt rape you, it was meant to be,even if you are young ,you grow up fast with the responsibility of a life other than your own ,you should never love yourself more than your child,its a life from conception,it has a soul ,because GOD gave it one,you may not see much at first its so small ,no face ,no arms ,no legs ,but still it lives!! inside you, your body it makes grow ,to have a face ,arms ,legs,and did you know they have a heart,it dont seem real to the woman that cannot see it ,but still it lives,i was blessed with 2 little girls 13 months apart i was 19,with the angels off my dreams ,THE,most imporntant gift that god could ever give me,i would die for them ,anyday ,so to truly love; you have to love someone more than you love your self ,abortion is an out for people that dont have a clue what love is ,so if god sends these people a child and they are so selfish that they have to kill thier child to satisfie thier own selfish needs ,then they should have ,adopted parents lined up ,and let people like me ,who wanted more children ,i cannot have one of my own, give he or she a life not death,there are so many women that cannot have children ,they long every day for a child to love,i believe god s plan was to make women that couldnt concieve,so that the women that didnt want a child,would have anouther option rather than murder ,these women exist , the political side of it all is the problem w/orphanages &w adoption, its not that thier are not people wanting to adopt ,its the red tape /&money that these people have to go through to adopt,my husband was adopted and 45 yrs ago ,he had a family that wanted to take him home right then &there,they are very wealthy,already had a little girl ,thier home paid for,was upstanding in the church&in personal lives one was an accountant the other a social worker,it still took them 3 years to take him home and love him,he had a great life,but why does it take so long to adopt if this prosess would could move faster there wouldnt so many babys spending 2-3 yrs of thier life in an orphanage or foster care ,allot of foster parents only do it for the money they are not in it for the well being of the children ,if adoption could move faster there would be less need for foster care ,in my opinion these ,people should have to meet a higher standard, as high as ,the people that want to adopt,so i guss im saying that murder is murder,ther are too many other choices,i say this all to you ,because i know a few women that have abortions,and the grief& regret is really hard for them to deal with ,even some of them ,still after all those yrs cannot forgive themselves,most women ,will tell you that it was easy and that they dont feel guilty and they always justify it as saying ,well it wasnt a real baby yet anyway,they also argue that its my body ,its my choice,NO!!!GODchosses and women defie GOD,they kill the gift that has been given,its just wrong,before i go ,i will tell you i am 42yrs old my girls are22&23 both of them were doing drugs so bad ,they were so thin that i could see thier ribbs protruding through the skin,i prayed to god if only your will stop my girls before they die ,i even asked god to take me instead ,i pleaded /w my own life to save thiers,he didnt take me ,he wouldnt let me DIE for them ,instead he gave them a little baby to grow inside them,the drugs stopted ASAP,now recall i said both my girls,the wildest one got pregnant 1st;- 3 months later my oldest got pregnant,my prayers were answered,and my childrens lives was spared ,they loved some one other than themselves,thier little gifts from god,i have 2 wonderfull girls ,3 grand babys ,thier ages are 3-2-&1 ,,abortion was not an option,thier children are the! most important part of thier lives,they thank god for them every day and as well as i; you see we dont have the right to overide,whats meant to be,im not judging the women that have really felt there was no other way,thier creater will judge&punish ,if they believe or not that abortion is really murder, ( digg deep into your heart) ,Hold respect for LIFE,nomatter how small; its still life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!respectfully yours KATHY A&GOD BLESS

I think every woman should have the right to make this decision for herself. HOWEVER, I think it should be illegal in all cases if the fetus is more than 3 months old.

I am for abortion if the woman got raped. But thats it. Any other reason and I see it as THOU SHALT NOT KILL its a 10 commandment. You break it you go to hell.

I have two children and while I never planned on having children (in point of fact I planned on not having children) they are the greatest joy of my life. I remember discussing with their mother (when the first was born) what we shoud 'do'. I put do in quotes becaue really, for me, there's only one option. You have the baby. There may be certain circumstances in which abortion seems the right path, but looking at my children I know it was not for me. Rape, incest, confirmed undoubted debilitating deformity of development issues (spina bifida for example) may be potential arguments in favour of abortion. Outside of this, nothing could hold sway in any degree in my mind.

I think its the females choice. to have it or not to. I know its killing the baby - but its THEIR choice. not yours, not mine. Teens have sex, and most of them dont even know about sex safe! So there go the abortions, and people who get raped or accidents happen. But I think over 3months, it should be illegal, since you can actually feel it, its yours. I dont think its sinful to have an abortion, Because if your having money problems, or dealing with any problems that you need to catch up on life your self, then you would'nt want the child to grow up hungry, cold? Abortion should be the females decision, not the governments or anybody elses.

My opinion is that I'm sick to death of the abortion debate, and I'm sick of people who base their whole vote just on this issue.

Personally, I think that we should have an adult conversation about abortion in this country, but that is, of course, impossible. People have their stupid slogans and they distort each other's positions. I think abortion should be legal, but at the same time, I worry about the potential implications of making life cheap that might go along with it.

Again, it's a tricky subject, but the current way that people handle it with their Bible quotes and official church pronouncements and chanting masses of people who can't think or discuss is getting us nowhere. And politicians know that they can manipulate people into voting for them just by playing to their particular stance on this single issue, which is very bad for responsible democratic voting as a whole in this country.

I think it should be a woman's choice, and no state or anyone else for that matter should be able to have the right to tell a woman that she can or can't make that choice!

I do think it's not the end of the world if a woman has one, but it should NOT be used as a form of birth control - it should be a LAST resort - if no other options are feasbile. Some women are just not able to be parents for whatever reason at the time, and it should always be an option for them. I think it should never be taken lightly, but it should be something that is available.

Someone said it should be illegal in all cases if the fetus is more than three months old. I sort of disagree with that. What if they find that the fetus has some horrible disease and won't live past birth? I don't know that I could deal with that. (Case in point - I know someone who was carrying a baby with spina bifida. The baby had less than 1/3 of a developed brain and a 3 inch hole at the base of her spinal cord. If she lived, she would never see, hear, or speak. It would be a miracle if she lived to kindergarten age. I'm not sure I could go thru that. Thankfully, (if you want to say it) the baby died in utero - before anything had to be decided or dealt with.)

Thats a womans personal desicion and she shouldnt be ashamed of whatever it is. I am not against it, but its no something that should be done just because you had a one night stand and you messed up, you gotta take care of yourself.

I do not think that the nature of the sex should be at issue UNLESS the woman was raped or the child was conceived through incest, in which case I totally support the woman's decision to abort.
I think that first trimester abortions should be left to the decision of the woman and her doctor (and in some cases the paternal father as well) Second trimester issues should be only as a result of emergency, and similarly third trimester abortions should be discouraged unless necessary to save the mother.

I think abortion wrong and it is premeditated murder there are some docters reach inside the mother and cut the baby up and remove it. its sick and nasty i think it is a sin and it should be banned in all of the world they have also done tests on the mothers after they have an abortion. they say that if you get an abortion you regret it deeply later in life. People later in life regret it so much that they go into deep depression

I will make this short and sweet. I am a spiritual person, but I believe it is the woman's choice. I don't care what the reason is- if you want to have a first trimester abortion- go ahead, but don't think you can use it as a birth control. I do NOT agree with partial birth abortions unless your doctor says YOU WILL DIE if you don't have one. By that point you should have decided if you were going to keep/adoption or kill your baby. It shouldn't be illegal... That's my thought- short and to the point.

I see it this way. The person who is pregnant regardless of how they go pregnant it is there own decision whether or not to get an abortion.

All I know is that myself I could not nor would I listen to anyone else for a couple basic reasons.

I see it has this its not my utureus and therefore I have no say in what another person does or doesn't do with there body.

A person who is going to have an abortion should look at all the issue as well as compliction that can come out of abortion, because many things can go wrong with a female body because ours is all on the inside not the outside.

If a person doesn't want to abort there is always adoption or keeping the child for themselve. The decision and decision only has to be that person based on the information that is give to them.

All I know is I am not God and I have no right to JUDGE what another person does with there body. I have friend who have had abortions to go along with there decision as well as giving them the facts. I told them the choice had to be there I couldn't make it for them.

i am for abortion. i believe the fetus is still actually part of the mother until it's able to live outside of the uterus.

i dont think it's right to force someone to be a mother, a forced mother will not take care of her baby properly. it could grow up being neglected and/or abused.

i know people are going to say it can go up for adoption, but foster homes are already packed with children who don't have homes.

also, what would happen if we made abortion illegal? making abortion illegal will not stop women from having abortions, they will only have an unsafe abortion.

women would be forced to be unfit mothers. their children wont grow up with the proper love they deserve. we'd have more depressed teens who'd get hooked on drugs (like most teens who dont get enough attention at home), and will, more than likely, do other illegal acts.

Really, it doesn't make a difference whether the pegnancy was accidental, on purpose, or rape. If the women doesn't want the bay, or doesn't feel ready you shouldn't expect her to keep it.

To some, it might seem like ruthless killing, but its not. I mean, a baby doesn't really have a life until it's born. Sure, its body functions, it can move, technically it is alive, BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE AN ACTUAL LIFE.

Think about it, when you can your shower, you're killing millions of innocent living bacteria. But although they are alive, they don't have a life. Neither does the baby. I don't know about you, but personally I can't remember anything until I was like 3. So the baby isn't even aware of what might be happening to it.

Some people claim to be pro-life. I am not. Well, I'm pro-life in a different sense. I'm not for the baby's life, I'm for the mother's life. Most abortions are unplanned pregnancies in young women. They have their whole life ahead of them. If they keep the baby at a young age, chances are that their life's dreams and goals have just been washed down the drain. Babies are expensive, so you can forget about moving into a real home and out of that condo. Wanna go to college? Well, if you've got a kid, it's gonna be a struggle. Plan on being a dancer? You're not going anywhere near that stage until you shed the weight you put on during pregnancy.

Babies are wonderful, but they can severly mess things up for those who aren't ready yet. So abortion is a great option. It should be available to those who choose that path. And for the people who don't like it, well, then they shouldn't get an abortion. They only problem I see with abortions is the if-you-are-under-18 you-need-parental-consent law. If you're choosing an abortion, talking it over with your parents probably doesn't sound too fun. So yea...save the babies for when we can manage them. As for now, abortion is a serious option to consider.

im totally against abortion! if the women got raped- then she can give the baby to an orphanage. in my opinion, there is no justifiable reason for an abortion, period

im not really sure about it. it seems like there are some cicumstances where it would be nessecary. like say your gonna be a single parent with no help and you know you cant support a baby, or your too young. thats one option but another is to put the baby up for adoption. i dont know the laws but i think it should be legal for girls to get abortions if they want. its a whole different story though if its a girl who sleeps around and gets pregnant and sees it as her only way out. i knew a girl like that. and that is ALL wrong. and once i read this story about a girl who got raped and gotten pregnant, then had an abortion. i can see how, she wouldnt want to have that baby. it just all depends. girls shouldnt look at it like, oh if i get pregnant i can always get an abortion. but it should basically be a last resort. its clear to see why people see it as so wrong, but i dont think it is. its just the people who are wrong. if you dont want a baby then dont sleep around without protection right?? the smart choice if you dont want your baby is adoption, cause theres probably someone out there who cant have children and are looking for one. i dont know, but another thing about abortions, is what is it, stem cell research?? they use the aborted babys for that, and i dont think that makes girls want to give up there baby, but it would make the girls who did abort there baby feel a whole lot better about it. they wont have the burdenabout losing the life of there child, theyll be able to feel better about saving a life too. i cant really say if im against it or not. theres just certain circumstances where its okay. and others where its all wrong. you know what i mean?

This is a very good question because everyone has a different opinion about it. My opinion is that it is horrible and no one should ever do it. If you are young and have a baby and don't want it, its your fault for having sex and getting it. But you don't need to go through abortion, have the baby and adopt it, many people look for adopting kids if they can't for some reason have a kid. It is horrible to start a life then end it for no reason. Even though you are a baby and you prolly won't remember it, it is horrible to do that to someone. If you HAD to abortion for some reason, please do it in a nice way. Don't but it on the top of a hill and let it die like they didn't back then, i almost cried when i heard they did that. And don't abuse it or anything. You are right, it is a very complex issue in which many people agree and disagree on. You could go somewhere and protest this or something if you have enough evidence for your side. Hope i helped state my opinion clearly.

i say people stop having kids and adopt! they're overpopulatin the world with kids and what about the ones who have no homes. if you didn't want the baby to begin with then don't have sex unless of course the person was raped or something

It makes no difference to me how they got pregnant it is their choice. I had an abortion and I will always wonder what if but I don't feel like there was another option I should have chosen. I don't expect anyone to pay for my kids but me and there's too many black kids in foster care for me to be adding to that. Adoption is not an option for every child. Theres tons of kids who are minorities or have disabilities who will spend their whole life in that situation. Bottom line is that every situation is different and every women has the right to make their own choice.

if one is pregnant following a rape then i feel abortion is ok.
if mother's health is at risk then its ok. if the ultrasound shows the baby is deformed or has extreme health issues, or if it is impossibly conjoined twins, then abortion is ok.

i am of the old school - and i make no apologies for that. i just don't think abortion should be taken as lightly as it is now-a-days.

I don't believe in abortion as a form of birth control but if it was a case of rape or incest then by all means get rid of it no questions asked. I don't want a baby that was a product of any forced sex. A baby is conceived out of love not out of rape.
Another reason to abort - is if the child is severely handicapped. This is for me personally. I know myself better than anybody and i have worked with special needs children so that is why i know that i cannot deal with a severley handicapped child - if the child is that handicapped and going to be a burden on society - they why continue to carry it to term. I am sorry that i have to be so blunt like i am, but that is the way i feel.
Finally my view on abortion being "murder" I don't believe it is murder - not before it actually has a heartbeat, before that it is not a baby. That is how i see it.

I am a pro choice indidvidual. I believe that women need to have choice and reproductive freedom. There are too many women stuck in loveless, and abusive marriages because their husbands keep getting them pregnant. In a world that is so wealthy and in a country that at least tries to seem so fair to everyone, women are still considered second class citizens. An unborn fetus, that is in the stages of being nothing more than a mass of cells has more rights in some people's views than the woman carrying it. The federal government will pay for viagra, but will not pay for birth control. They will pay for a women to help her get pregnant, but if she has taken birth control faithfully for years and one day took her pill later than usual, they will not pay for her to take something to prevent a pregnancy like the morning after pill. Pro lifers always say there will be someone there to help, but where was someone when Andrea Yates was drowning her babies, because of post partem depression, and the hundreds of women just like her? I believe that if more women were educated, and men too, about birth control, there would be less need for abortion. While I don't think it should be used as a form of birth control, I am not willing to tell another women what she can and cannot do with her own body. That is between her and her god. If anti abortion activists were really pro life, they would be trying to get rid of gang violence, and violence against women and children, and figure out a way to stop the war. There are so many better things for them to put their energy toward. I think it is time to stop treating women as slaves. If they want to have a baby fine, if not, it's nobody elses business, and they maybe wouldn't make such a good mom anyway. The government do not have the right to legislate to my uterus.

I dont believe in abortion at all. As far as im concerned the baby inside is just as important as anyone else and deserves every chance to live. dont want the baby? fine have it and put it up for adoption.

i personally believe in it depending on the situation and how far along the person is....if its still early stages then its up to the person...if its too far along then no way....
