Can anyone give me any personal experiences with medical abortions?

If you are willing to provide details i would really appreciate it. Such as, how long it took, pain, recovery, and if a d&c had to be performed.

I had a medical abortion. I took RU-486, and was able to be at home when everything passed. They also gave me Vicodin, and Plan-B. I have had two kids already and my pain tolerance is pretty high, I felt fine. I took the pills, and layed down in bed for about two hours, I got up and was already starting to bleed heavily. I bled for about 4-6 weeks, and I felt no physical pain, no vomiting, or anything, It was just like I didn't even take anything. It may be different for everyone depending on your body. I would say just to be careful, and really listen to your body as you know it best. And just another little thing, I would advise against having this procedure, only because of the emotional/psychological effects that it can take on a woman. Not to mention most relationships often do not survive the aftermath of abortion. Sometimes it is worth it to tell your parents and have the child. You will always wonder what that precious baby would have looked like, and it is heart breaking!! I had my first son at age 17, so I know what it is like to not want to tell anyone that you are pregnant!! I strongly advise that you put a lot of thought into this before you go through with anything. This is truly a life altering event either way you choose!

If you are considering having an abortion, please don't do it. There are other options out there. What you feel now may not be what you feel later. Abortions are extremely painful for the woman and the fetus. Risks include: Sliced bowels, infertility, bleeding lasting for up to 40 days, future deadly eggtopic pregnancies, and death.

I had an abortion once and I would never do it again. I just had my second baby and my bf wanted me to have an abortion with her, I tryed, but couldn't do it. I would recommend you not to have an abortion. There are many people who can't have children, Give it up if you don't want to keep it. I did that, bc I already have one and it's hard. She is with people who can't have kids. Instead of me killing the baby, I gave her to a family and I still talk with them and they send me pictures. Think long and hard

traci, there are agencies out there like Catholic charities and Care-Net that can offer assistance to you. Don't kill your baby.

Many women truly regret killing their child afterwards and are depressed and angry at themselves afterwards. This is something the abortion clinics don't tell you about...the psychological affects that can last for a life time.
Some women even contemplate suicide, turn to drugs and alcohol. Don't go down that road especially if you have other children that are living. How will you explain to them that you chose to kill one of their siblings.

Where is the father of your child? He should be steppinig up and offering $$$ assistance for you and the health of your unborn baby.

Please, for the sake of your baby, get counseling and choose life. God doesn't make mistakes.

i agree wit the first person i dont beleive in abortions at all but u know ur thinkin about the pain an how long it will take things like tha but what you dont know is tha having an abortion ruins you emotionally and forever think about it a couple years down the road you'll be thinking of how you got rid of your own child..an i dont care wha anyone says about oo its not a child yet till bla bla noo its apart of you an it will always b in your mind so think about another way of doing it such as adoption...dont do it!! its not right how would u like it if your mom did it to you or another sibling...o an another thing dont want to ever have a baby or get pregnant DONT HAVE SEX
