What is the difference between so-called partial birth and other abortions?

It seems to me it's either wrong to abort a fetus or it's not. What difference does it make how you do it? Maybe pro-life and pro-choicers can agree on this?

I understand what partial birth abortion is. What I don't understand is what is the difference between killing a fetus that is partially outside the womb and killing it while it is inside the womb. It is the same fetus. It has the same potential viability or not. It seems to me that the only difference is the killing it outside the womb in some cases might present less of a health risk to the woman.

In partial birth abortion the baby is delivered most of the way and killed. In the third trimester a baby is capable of living outside the uterus, so this type of abortion is essentially murder, as the arguement for abortion is that the fetus doesn't qualify as a person because it is incapable of survival independent from the mother. In the third trimester it meets this definition, And delivering it part way would be like killing a baby.

Well, if you knew anything you would know that Roe v. Wade permits third trimester abortions where the pregnancy poses a health risk for the mother. No one is arguing that. Well, most people aren't anyway. Report It
