Are there any chances of a woman getting pregnant after 3 abortions?

Thank you for all who have answered and are answering. Pls note that I am not asking this question for myself. I'm asking it out of concern for my best friend who's gonna get married soon.

I agree--she can still get pregnant but could be more likely to have complications. The abortion would have affected only the uterus, cervix--nothing above that. So ovulation would occur as normal, but if there was any damage done to the uterine wall during the procedure, implantation and the rest of the pregnacy may be more troublesome.

I really don't think, though, that an abortion is all that more invasive than other procedures related to pregnancy--think if you'd had three kids, with possible amniocentesis, cesaerean, etc-- your uterus would have been through just as much.

If you have had abortions in the past, you should probably just ask a doctor before trying to get pregnant. He or she can check you out and set your mind at ease.

Consider carefully also whether you're really ready for pregnancy this time, since you haven't been in the past. A full term pregnancy will probably bring up a lot of emotions related to your previous abortions, as well as just physical complications. Take care of yourself and good luck.

Edit-- I just read the other posts that you have received in the time it took me to type my answer. I am really sorry for the judgmental comments you've received. None of us know the details of why you would have chosen to have previous abortions, and to jump on a stranger like that is unforgivable. You're clearly considering moving on from your past. Sorry you've had to hear those remarks.

Thank goodness you can be there for your friend, instead of being like all these other people! (I hope that her fiance knows about the past abortions--if she's considering whether it could have an effect on their baby, I believe he should know.)

Yes. Sounds to me, though, that someone is using abortion as birth control when she should learn to keep her legs closed if she doesnt want to get pregnant.

You can still get pregnant. Previous abortions don't usually cause any complications with subsequent pregnancies or affect your fertility.

Ever hear of CONTRACEPTION as a method of birth control? I hope that after killing 3 fetuses that you're not thinking of actually letting one live. You would be an unfit parent. Get yourself neutered.

Yes of course there is a chance of getting preg. There is ALWAYS a CHANCE, its up to "mother nature". Many times when a doctor says "you cant have anymore kids" unless he totally took out your Uterus there is ALWAYS a "Chance"

I think it's ridiculous and selfish that your friend wants a child after 3 abortions because obviously she was using abortion as birth control. What ever happened to responsibility? She was just taking the easy way out.
