Why are so many young girls in the southern states pregnant?

Now, don't get me wrong in asking this. I do not care not nor want to know your views on abortions, so keep it to yourself either way. What I'm wondering is why it is so common in the southern states for girls to have children before even hitting 20. I've lived in more then one country and in many northern and southern states and I am amazed at how many 16 year old mothers I see. Is it a lack of sexual health education in the schools? Is it harder to get on birth control down here? Are there less sexual health clinics open to the public and if so, why when clearly it is so high down here. I've asked many friends in the area and all of them said that when they were in high school at least 4 or more girls were pregnant. So my question is....why?

It is because the "red" states are supported by the "blue" states. That's right - the people who ***** the most about "welfare" are the ones who are most supported by it. Check the sources, my friend.

In many areas that I personally visited while I was younger it was a lack of education and opportunity for women I would doubt that it is greatly changed .

Amazing!!! Lack of proper guidance from mothers on sex education and reproductive health. Lack of government agencies support on sex education. Over exposure to sexual videos, magazines and pornographic materials that tends to bring the young girls to curiosity. But in my opinion lack of moral values is the cause of that rapid increase in teen pregnancies.

its not so much southern states, i am in northern, and in my school, we had over 5 girls each year, under the age of 18, most of them were between the ages of 14-17 pregnant, its more what that parents stand, most of the girls who got pregnant, got pregnant, because their parents didn't care, and they thought sex was their way to feel better about themselves, and didn't use protection, because of the "it won't happen to me"

also i live in ohio, and a few years back, a school named canton south, had almost 40 girls out of school in the 10th grade because they were pregnant, thats only one school (they all were around 15-16 years old)

Because if a girl has a child while visiting US she can legally stay in America to take care of the child using foodstamps. No offense, seen it more than once.

That's how you hook a husband, and it works, to get one, not to keep one. By the way, I've lived all over the country and its like this everywhere. Many places the girls feel unloved and a baby is something that will love them. Boy are they wrong.
