If you live in a backward, religiously dominated country that doesn't have legal abortion, then I'm very sorry- you only option there is to be from a very rich family that can afford to have it done.

they'll probably do a d & c dilation and cutellage. that's where they dilate your cervix and kind of "scrape" out the uterus,. others may use the vaccuum technique and suck out the uterus. it all sounds gross and sad maybe but nah it's only an embryo at this point. plus they use it for stem cell research.

K I am against abortion so I am not endorsing you have one, but usually it is best to go to your doctor, have him/her confirm your pregnancy and the "age" of it, and then he can "refer" (you don't actually need a refferal) you to an abortion clinic that he/she feels is a responsible and safe clinic.

This is a very controversial matter. It's your personal medical choice if you decided to have an abortion or not. You have two options when having an abortion early in your pregnancy they are medication abortion, and vacuum aspiration both of these procedures are safe. Since you are only 28 days pregnant both are open to you. Also the pill is not the way to go...it isn't a pleasant experience...you want to be in the hands of professionals so I suggest you do it at the clinic. When you take the pill you go through by yourself and many women have died from bleeding.

Abortion Options

Early in pregnancy, you have two options for ending a pregnancy 鈥?medication abortion or abortion by vacuum aspiration. (The information about procedures is presented alphabetically.) Medication abortion is the use of medicine to end a pregnancy. Vacuum aspiration is the use of gentle suction to end pregnancy.

Pregnancy is usually dated from the first day of the last menstrual cycle. You may choose medication abortion if you are early enough in pregnancy 鈥?this may be defined as up to 49, 56, or 63 days, depending on how the medicine is taken. After 63 days, vacuum aspiration is your only abortion option during the first trimester, which is calculated as the first 14 weeks after the first day of a woman's last menstrual period.

After the first trimester, dilation and evacuation (D&E) is the most common abortion procedure. In a D&E, the cervix is slowly stretched open. The procedure is completed by emptying the uterus using a combination of suction and medical instruments. Another option, induction 鈥?in which premature labor is induced with various medicines 鈥?is not widely available.

When Abortions Are Performed

Most abortions in the United States 鈥?nearly 90 percent 鈥?are provided in the first trimester. Fewer than 10 percent take place in the second trimester. But after 24 weeks of pregnancy, abortions are performed only for serious health reasons.

How Medication Abortion Works

There are three steps for medication abortion:

STEP ONE
Your clinician will give you a dose of either mifepristone or methotrexate at the clinic.

Mifepristone 鈥?blocks the hormone progesterone. Without progesterone, the lining of the uterus breaks down, ending the pregnancy.

Methotrexate 鈥?stops the growth of the pregnancy in the uterus. It can also stop the growth of pregnancies that develop in a fallopian tube 鈥?ectopic pregnancies.

STEP TWO
You will take a second medication 鈥?misoprostol. Misoprostol softens the cervix and causes the uterus to contract and empty.

You and your clinician will plan the timing and place for the second step 鈥?you may take the second medicine at home. Or you may need to return to the clinic. Your clinician will give you instructions on how to take it.

You will take the misoprostol

After you take the misoprostol you will most likely start to bleed heavily within hours or days. This is the abortion. You may see large blood clots or tissue at the time of the abortion.
