Abortion questions?

I have questions about abortions

1. will the patient have to stay in the hospital for the night , or can they go home ?

2. will there be any pain during the procedure ? and after the procedure such as any body parts etc.. ?

3. is the first abortion free ? I'm from Vancouver B.C

answers from doctors / or people who anticipated or who knows please, Thank You

1.) It's an outpatient procedure. You will not have to spend the night in a hospital.

2.) There may be some slight discomfort during the procedure and there will be cramping afterward.

3.) I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer to this question because i am not familiar with British Columbia.

3. If you have Planned Parenthood clinics in B.C., they tend to offer services on a sliding scale, according to what the patient is able to pay.

It depends on how far along she is. After 14 weeks, it's more complicated.

1. She'll stay for a few hours after the procedure, then go home. She'll need someone to drive her home because she may be nauseous.

2. It's not especially painful. There are several options for the type of anesthesia/sedation during the procedure. For some of the options, she'll have no recollection of the procedure (even though she'll be conscious at the time). For others, she will be aware of what is going on, but should feel nothing. After it's over, it's usually no worse than period cramps.

3. The fee really depends on where you get it done. In the US, there are clinics that provide services for lower income women, and provide referrals of private doctors that offer reduced rates for lower income women. PLEASE don't let the fee be a deciding factor in whether you terminate a pregnancy.

no, its an outpatient "surgery" if you have a surgical abortion. with medical abortion, you basically have the abortion in the privacy of your own home, though only offered up to a certain number of weeks...eight i believe.

there is some level of pain during the procedure, but not after. it varies from woman to woman of course and there are a range of side effects.

i cant imagine that abortion is covered, however I have no facts to back this up. just a guess...that would seem however to promote unsafe sex which would sincerenly surprise me.

1.) If there aren't any complications from the abortion, you're usually sent home the same day after resting and waking up from being put under a type of anesthesia.

2.) If you're put under anesthesia, you don't feel anything. One minute you're awake the next you're waking up in a resting room, where there are usually nurses around to make sure you're okay.

3.) I don't think any abortion is free. Find a place that does abortions in your area and call for a price. I live in south Florida and abortions cost roughly $400.00

Abortions that happen after 1-3 months after conception are usually done with a suction technique. The technique is kind of how a vacuum would work. Your cervix is dilated and the egg is sucked out. This abortion does not leave any scars and will not jeopardize your chances of having children later in life. There are possible cramps and bleeding after the abortion. You'll probably be given some pain pills and other pills that help prevent infection (make sure you take them when you're supposed to!). Also, you can't have sex for 2 weeks.

I'm not sure if it's lawful to do abortions after the 3 month mark. You can research more by typing in "Abortion Facts" in any search engine.

I had a friend that had an abortion!!!! She said listening to the suctioning of the baby was awful!! She said she can still hear it!! She regrets it everyday!! Her baby would of been 4yrs old!! The bad part is that after the procedure, she had to go back b/c they left some the baby in there!! She had to have it twice!! So think about other options before you resort to that!! Good Luck!!:)

1. not unless there are complications, which is rare.
2. no pain, but maybe a bit of discomfort. if you're referring to a first trimester abortion, the fetus is too small to be seen and is usually liquified due to it's gellatin-like body.
3. i don't think an abortion can be free unless you have a health plan that covers them.

No they wouldn't have to stay overnight. Yes there is pain, like really bad menstral cramps, and it is going to hurt after. You will bleed for as little as a week to as much as a month or more. No the first abortion isn't free, but you can get temporary insurance so that you won't have to pay anything if you are unable to. If you are considering an abortion yourself please think about it, it's really hard and your going to have trouble getting over it. I know first hand. Please, please make sure it is your choice and not somebody elses, because you are the one who is going to have to live with it not anyone else. I hope this helped, good luck to you.

I know the physical pain won't compare to the pain you will feel in your heart... I'm not here to bash you over the head with why abortion is wrong but please for the child's and God's sake put the baby up for adoption.

Abortions are bad. I had a friend that she had an abortion only because of her mother and then she had to have some sergeries afterwards because it really badly messed her up. Abortions are bad because they kill a living life. Any one thinking about Abortion should instead give them up for adoption there are people out there that can't have kids and want kids. So don't kill a living life that hasn't really lived its life just because YOU made the mistake and got pregnant.
