Abortion Pain? |
I had an abortion two days ago... Anyone that has had an abortion is it really suppose to hurt this bad after you have it done??? Will the pain ever go away? What does the pain mean? Is there anyway to make the pain so it doesn't hurt that much?? I had an immense amount of pain after my abortyion as well. The doctor told me it's so painful because you are pssing clots and tissue. Your uterus has to contract to force the stuff out, and tissue/clots take more contracting than fluid. Try filling a sock up with rice and heating it in the microwave for 60-90 seconds and putting it on your stomach where it hurts. You should also be doing uterine massage (they should have told you about it at the clinic) where you press very hard on your uterus and massage it for 15 minutes every hour. This will help your uterus expel the tissue and firm back up. Aleve is good, but if you're in severe pain that keeps you awake, go to the ER or call the clinic and see what you should do. You need to check with the doctor- describe the pain and find out if it is normal or not. Cramping can be expected-it is an invasive procedure. Be aware that many women need to seek post abortion counseling- they often regret it and need help in moving on. You need to call the clinic where you had it done. You may have an infection or something else. If you are talking about mental pain that is another story. Best luck. Most people have a lot of emotional pain after they realize what they have done to a living baby. Maybe its from that. It can feel like a really bad period, with cramps and backache, drink a lot of water. It will help with the headaches. It can take up to 2 weeks to stop bleeding, or even stop hurting. Your uterus is contracting. trying to go back to normal, it can be painful. You will be fine, make sure you do not miss your follow up appointment,THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Ill pray for you. Have no advice for someone who kills their baby. As you can already see, this problem is certain to stir emotions, yours and others. The advice on physical pain has been answered. I recall the best advice I was given many years ago, when in the same situation as yourself, was to keep this business to myself, and bear the burden alone, as this sad decision would never be lightened by sharing it. There will be a time when you have joy of motherhood, and you will not want the people you know to remember this sad time, and you will avoid sickening remarks from stupid people. |
