Is abortion alright if you're only killing a fetus or a baby or whatever?

I get crazy people all the time saying that it's alright to kill a fetus but bad to kill a baby. So basically these people are saying if the baby is still in his mother go ahead and kill him. What about doctor assisted suicide? Surely if you think that a little baby is worthless you would think that an old man would be just as worthless.

...Well, just a bit of King Solomon logic for you. I think that killing any innocent person is evil. One thing that these pro-abortion people don't think about is that their own parents could have had an abortion and they wouldn't be alive to fight the life of others.

some people use abortion as a very expensive form of birth control. as for others no one really likes the thought of abortion. even those who have had them. people make mistakes and let me give you an example, lets say that you are a woman who has a small child and just left her abusive boyfriend who was threatning to kill her and her baby that is only 8 months old and just as you finally have gotten the courage to get away and not want any ties to this person other than the restraining order that you got because that was all the cops would do for you, you find out that you are pregnant. you have no job, you are living with friends and can barley take care of the baby you have and you are scared to death and having nightmares of this person killing you what would you do? i had an abortion. it is not something that i am proud of by any means and there are days i feel really bad and wonder what would have happened. please though don't judge unless you know the situation. you are a man and have never been in this situation or worse. and when you are scared and poor what do you do. you say adoption. that doesn't work if he won't sign the papers as well. would you really want to share custody with this man or have constant contact with him. he had no problem holding a gun to my daughters head and she wasn't his. what would he have done to his own. so before you start making these snap judgements be in a womans shoes and deall with these things. like i said i don't think that anyone thinks it is right. but i ask that you don't judge me i have felt bad enough. and just think of these things when women feel forced and if you have better solutions that will help then please by all means start some movements,
i am sorry i didn't mean to give you my life story with my guilt, i guess i just wanted to give you a little perspective on sometimes why it happens. maybe even give you a little back ground on how it feels to have one as well. i hope that i don't offend anyone

Abortion is murder in the eyes of God. It should't be done. The fetus is innocent, and has no reason to die. If someone thinks that they can't give the baby a good home, then cary the baby until birth, then put him/her up for adoption to live a better life.

I think its wrong. As my friend said "If you think your responsible enough to have sex, your responisble enough to have a kid." I think an unborn baby is just as much a baby as a newborn. I don't hate those who get them, I just hate their actions. "Don't hate me, hate my ways." Dunno where that's from but its a good phrase. Plus if a fetus isnt a baby, we all weren't babies once. We were just a tiny thing in our mom..So...I don't know if this helped...

Seriously, whenever I vote in an election or decide whether or not I like a candidate, if they are for abortion, I instantly will not vote for them. If they are against it and are planning on doing something to stop it, then I will probably vote for them.

It really makes me mad when people say abortion is a "woman's choice" or whatever. The moment of conception, human life is formed. People should realize the possible consequences of their actions. I understand having a baby will change your life forever, even if you do put it up for adoption, but so will an abortion. I know a lot of people who think abortion is okay when there is a rape involved, but even then I'm still against it, unless there is some severe health risk to the mother. I understand people who get raped and pregnant, it's not their fault in any way. I can relate to them in a way through personal experience. I don't know I could just never have an abortion and I really don't think any babies deserve to die.

Is it alright to draft kids to go to war and die without the consent of their parents, who have invested more than 18 years of their lives in the care and nurturing of a now-fully-formed young adult?

Hmmmm, I wonder which is worse ... forcing a fully self-aware individual to face a grim and nasty demise, or ending the process of gestation in a half-formed creature which has little or no self-awareness and an incomplete nervous system? Or, for that matter, putting adult dogs and cats to sleep?

Maybe this world would be less jacked up if people asked the important questions once in a while.

Im 15 years old and when I recently found out I was pregnant, I was horrified and abortion was first in mind. Thank God, I decided not to go through with it, and now Im 15 weeks pregnant and couldn't imagine even considering killing a little piece of me that I made. If a girl is raped, whatever the situation, why cant she bless a couple who can't have kids with what they've always wanted? A fetus, is a baby. And I think abortion is wrong, but a decision for the child bearing.

I agree! I think that abortion is evil, no matter what. It teaches people that they can be irresponsible and not have to worry about having a baby.

It's really sad, I know a girl who's had 5 abortions. She uses that as her method of birth control! She seems desensitized to the subject. When people ask questions, she laughs and says, "I killed it!" Either she has been too traumatized to feel any pain or she has some serious issues.

In instances of rape and incest, I think that abortion should be allowed. These babies would most likely turn out screwed up, so I think that it's better to end their lives before the suffering starts.

Even if abortion was every outlawed, which it should be, it's not going to stop all of the back alley abortions going on with wire coat hangers and kicks to the stomach. It's going to make that number higher and people are going to get hurt.

So this is a very controversial subject. There's really not much that we can do about it. If we get abortion outlawed, people will still do it, dangerously. If we don't, little girls like the one I know will think that it's OK for them to get abortions when they slip up.

We can't win either way. :(

I don't personally agree with it, but I think the girls that do it are very young and are scared, don't have money, are too scared to tell their parents, have future plans they don't want to interrupt such as college, etc. I don't think they are doing a lot of philosophical or medical thinking at the time really.

I feel that it is a women's choice and hers alone. Like someone said earlier, what if a 12 year old was raped and became pregnant. Or what if incest was involved. And how would you feel if it happened to yourself or your daughter. I think many people fail to think about that themselves. And what about people who go out and bomb abortion clinics and such because a women is aborting her baby. Isn't that murder as well?? It's all hypocritical.

kenny, hit your spell check next time,..let them abort themselves out of existence,..king solomon is a wise man and knew he wouldn not have to cut the baby in half b/c the true mother would not want that to happen,..this is what women's liberation brought us,..

Take religion out of it. Not everyone is religious and feels that life is "sacred." I just ate some chicken and it is sacred in my belly.

Women have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is not killing a "person." It is preserving the life and happiness of a "woman." How dreadful this planet would be if every mother was forced to have a child from a pregnancy! Welfare and depravity would be even more outrageous! Some women are not in a position to be good mothers; be it financial or emotional. Children derserve happiness and fairness - the best life possible. It is not fair to have a child born into such situations. Leave it to women to decide for themselves what is right. Stay out of it!

Abortion is a sin. There is no way around it. All life is precious. Its interesting to me how people are so concerned about saving extinct animals and rainforests but have so little regard for the unborn baby
As for girls who get raped.......thats a horrible horrible experience for them, but its still not the babies fault. The girl needs prenatal care and can carry a baby to term. There are millions of couples who are unable to concieve. Those babies can be given up for adoption
