Surgical abortion vs Medical abortion-which is more humane?

I know that is a loaded question and neither is humane.
My question is if you were or have had an abortion why did you chose one method over the other.

please...I am not asking for your thoughts on aborotion. But if you had to which method would you chose. Please answer that question

i may be pregnant and i've actually been thinking about which procedure to choose lately. hopefully i don't have to go through this, but if i do, i would choose medical only because its more like a miscarriage. surgical actually "pokes" at the fetus to end the pregnancy. i would feel less guilty with medical abortion. i find out in 2 days if i'm pregnant. i have the symptoms but pray that i will never have to ever go through this in my life.

i hope i'd never have to but i'd choose medical. but you can only do those up to so many weeks. i think medical is less disgusting then doctors sucking it out of you. but i think sometimes medical abortions don't work all the way and they end up doing a surgical abortion anyway.

abortion is inhumane PERIOD

It's murder either way. I think you are just looking for the one that will make someone feel less guilty.

The baby is dead either way.

Thank God I have never been or will ever be in a position to have to make the choice. But if I had ever found myself having to make a choice, it would have been surgical.

I have supported two people through their abortions, and it was harrowing to say the lest, the one who chose to have the surgical was on her feet much quicker.

The medical is more painful, as the woman is given two medications, one to weaken the fetuses hold on the uterus, and then a second medication is given to induce cramping, which expels the fetus, and bleeding can last up to 9 days. And the woman usually has to return to the doctor to ensure the fetus has expelled.

Surgical is done using a suction tube, takes about 10 -15 minutes, bleeding last for few days.

Also the surgical has a longer time span of 14 weeks to perform to procedure, where as medical is only 9 weeks.

The links below have some good information, giving the pros and cons of both procedures.

Edit;
For what ever reason a woman has to make the choice, for an abortion, it is their choice and their choice alone. Which I would imagine to be very difficult, and there for they need support not ridicule.

Saying that if people don't want children then, using any and all forms of protection, is better than having to have an abortion.

Bit of a contentious topic.

The information by the person above me is informed, and the web sites are very informative.

Being informed of what each procedure entails, is important. I would prefer the surgical, because the procedure is quick, and the recovery time is faster.

The links someone gave, helped me make my decision.
