How can I solve my eating abnormalities?

I was diagnosed anorexic a few years ago. Since then I got treatment, and gained over 20 pounds. Over the summer, I wanted to lose a little of the extra weight I had gained in a healthy manner. This worked, and I reached my goal. However, I had another "anorexic relapse". I felt myself getting out of control, but now i'm on a sort of twisted cycle of eating a LOT of healthy food, and tending to binge out later on food that isn't good for me. All it leaves me is more weight gain, and an upset stomach. I don't know why I have these urges to eat so much now. How can I get back to a normal eating lifestyle?

Unfortunately, there is nothing that you ALONE can do - as eating disorders are MENTAL HEALTH issues...

Though most of us who see councellors think that they are full of #@%& - and some of them actually ARE - a little bit of PROFESSIONAL help is probably the best answer ;););)

You have to figure out the reasons why you eat. Is it to fill you up with something emotionally that you're missing? You know the saying how some people eat their feelings? You do it even though you feel crappy afterward, which means you're not even getting real pleasure out of it. Find out what it is that you're unhappy about or trying to "fill yourself up with" by eating. Good luck.

I was anorexic as a kid, and went through periods where the anorexia waxed and waned. Usually when I went through periods of binge eating, it was because my body needed the calories, especially if my discipline had lapsed to begin with. Check with your doctor. Gaining weight isn't always pretty. Often, these binge eating periods pass when your body gets sick of it or doesn't need it anymore
