How long do you think it would be before Doctors can fix DNA abnormalities to cure many diseases?

Since researchers have finally discovered the complete DNA helix a few years ago, the possibilities and the potential are closer. Unfortunately, it'll still take a long time before a major breakthrough is discovered to cure many major diseases and disorders.
