While in hospital was told I needed a cholenoscopy cuz what I had could lead to cancer. Any idea what this is

I was in the hospital 5 times, and during a couple of admissions, I complained of nausea. So they did an ultrasound of my abdomen, and then informed me that I urgently needed a cholenoscopy. The docs told me that whatever it was/is could lead to cancer, but they gave me no other details.

When I asked my primary care doctor when out of the hospital, he said they listed it as 'colitis'. I have researched colitis, and I do not seem to have ANY of its symptoms.

Any ideas from any medical pros as to what the hospital docs might have been referring to?? I have recently lost 20% of my health insurance so am putting off having the recommended cholenoscopy....but am REALLY scared since they said that whatever abnormality they found could lead to cancer.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?? MANY THANKS TO ALL !!

I think you should call the hospital & ask your medical records be sent to your doctor,
Is a colonoscopy the test you need? That uses a camera- like device to look in your colon,it may show abnormal growths like a polyp,In your
intestines.
there may be low cost screenings available if cost is a problem
good luck

Honestly, its better you consult a specialist. I really want to help but I don't think I can give better answers than specialist do. Sorry.

good luck
