If a patient is diagnosed with a mental disease such as schizophrenia...?

partly due to a physical deformity, such as large amounts of exercise resistant fat, should insurance cover an abdominoplasty as reconstructive surgery.

Say the patient was morbidly obese as an adolescent, realized the damages, and dropped a whopping amount of weight all the way from morbidly obese to healthy before adulthood. The patient was then in a dilema where nothing he could do could rid himself of the fat that has caused him years of stress, depression, and social withdrawl, without the intervention of a surgeon. This lead to a psychosis in the brain, and through years of internal problems and social breakdown due to the disease, which launched the patient in full blown schizophrenia.

Would a brain disease primarily caused by a physical abnormality qualify the patient for cosmetic surgery to become reconstrucive surgery.

Asked this question 2 months ago and got no answer, this is as clear as I can make it.

Say the patient is schizophrenic, has been diagnosed as so, and has had doctors agree that the physical abnormality is a primary cause of THIS particular case.

Doctors have also agreed to sign for recommendations. According to the insurance coverage the patient has, cosmetic surgery is:

Any surgical procedure or any portion of a procedure performed primarily to improve physical appearance through change in bodily form, except for repair of accidental injury, or to restore or correct a part of the body THAT HAS BEEN ALTERED AS A RESULT OF DISEASE or surgery, or to correct a congenital abnormality.

Doctors have stated that the surgery would most likley "Do more for alieving you of your condition than any medication I could prescribe."

Schizophrenia, from the Greek roots schizein (蟽蠂委味蔚喂谓, "to split") and phr膿n, phren- (蠁蟻萎谓, 蠁蟻蔚谓-, "mind"), is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental illness characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality, most commonly manifesting as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions or disorganized speech and thinking in the context of significant social or occupational dysfunction. Onset of symptoms typically occurs in young adulthood, with approximately 0.4鈥?.6% of the population affected. Diagnosis is based on the patient's self-reported experiences and observed behavior. No laboratory test for schizophrenia exists.
So what is the connection between schizophernia, due to some physicial defomity and mobid obsity fit in exactly?
Their is no known CAUSE for schizopherenia, if their was, they would have a CURE! At least you got one answer this time around. Good Luck

You wouldn't be able to use that perticular afliction (schizophrenia That is ) because that one won't show up that way , pick a different dissorder , and get back to us ..
