Infecected brancial cleft cyst?

Anyone here had an infecected brancial cleft cyst?
I had a lump appear very suddenly in my neck a while ago, which was very painful, & after lots of doctors doing tests the head ent doc at royal adelaide finally told me i have a branchial cleft (a feotal abnormality that took 30 years to appear!!) cyct thats become infected. Pain is now gone but lump is still there & doc rekons there gonna cut it out. Just wondering if anyone has had this and how did it go. Have had all the biopsies done & its not cancerous at all (phew!)

That's so weird that I see this on here randomly. I just went to the doctor today with, what sounds like, the same thing. Only my lump isn't that painful. I was told it was an infection in my saliva gland and now I'm on a strong round of keflex.

I have googled it and all I'm finding is Branchial Cleft Cysts are usually in children. All the sites I've come up with have been pediatric sites.

Now, after reading up on this, it's making me wonder about my own lump. =\

Anyway, I hope all goes well for you, I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer. =(
