Hi There. Can anyone help with a Kidney issue.? |
I went to the doctor on friday to find out the results of a kidney xray. I found out that I had a kidney stone in my right and apparently I have an abnormality in the left kidney in the renal column (Bertin column or column of bertin). I realise this is probable quite a tough questions (i could not find much on the internet) but could anyone tell me: The renal column (or Bertin column, or column of Bertin) is a medullary extension of the renal cortex in between the renal pyramids. It allows the cortex to be better anchored. Portions of the renal cortex extend into the spaces between adjacent pyramids to form renal columns. This abnormality is mostly like due to genetic factors.just like polycystic kidney. Kidney stones on your left kidney are very painful and hard to pass. Surgery might be required if it couldn't be disintegrated with laser. Most of the time it's composed of calcium salts. Report It It took me a long time to locate this . Go to the link below for more information about the Berlin column which is located in the tubules of the kidney. Go to kidney diseases and kidney non- tumors.: Another site to consider : Thanks Rosie C Report It awwww :/ i know it must be very painful :( Why do people put medical questioms on here? Go to another doctor if yours does not answer them. I would suggest that you go back to your doctor and ask him to clarify all this for you. If you feel that he's not approachable, then see another. Hi , its better if you consult a doctor again for your doubts... The renal stone is causing problems in the renal column. It should not make difference to you where it is located... it is basically a stone which is damaging your kidney.. |
