What's this MRI mean? |
Can anyone tell me what this MRI report means? Do you think I will need surgery to fix this? I am 38 years old to if that helps. This is a report of a spinal examination. Disc dessication means that the disc is somewhat compressed from normal size. CSF is cerebro-spinal fluid, which surrounds the spinal nerve. The report cites other abnormalities which appear to me to be minor. On the basis of this report, I would not expect a doctor to recommend any sort of surgery to correct perceived problems, but I am not a physician and my expertise is limited. Discuss the matter with your doctor, and if you aren't happy with what he says, get a second opinion. Bill you. well its not terrible but its not great either maybe some meds i dont think surgury quite yet maybe though depending on your pain level and stuff like that MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. Basically, it's like an X-ray for everything in your body that is not bone. The report is what was found to be abnormal during the MRI. You may need surgery to fix it, but it doesn't hurt as much as you think it will. Does not sound very harmful. Need more details as to the reason you had to have this MRI. C-2-3, C3-4, C4-5 are in you upper neck or cervical spine. Seems like you are ok and believe me the pain from surgery and there after forever is not worth it. Not much they can do about the slight little problems. It sounds like they see some small areas that could be causing you some pain. But otherwise everything seems normal. The disc bulge is probably your source of pain. Just make sure to follow up with your doctor. MRI its a psychological term that means: magnetic resonance imaging: a technique that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce computer-generated images that distinguish among diffrent types of soft tissue; allows us to see structures within the brain. i have no idea if you but seek professional help... hope this helps I can only answer the first part of your question. A MRI is a magnetic resonance imaging it's more detailed than your average X-Ray. could it be that you have spinal stenosis or scolioses, scolioses can not be fixed with surgery and spinal stenoses can be fixed sometimes with surgery, so i dont know exactly what you have but from what you said a small disk is near or on your spinalcord and can be removed with lazer surgery which is not to painfull at all, i wish you good luck and hope its nothing serios, have a good day It doesn't sound like anything major that would require surgery. I would consult a good chiropractor to realign your vertebra. You'll be feeling better and back to normal in no time. Are you in severe pain?If not hold off and get a second opinion from a Good referral Surgeon.Always get another All the C's and T's are part of your vertebra. C means cervical. and T means Thoracic. soo desiccation indicates extreme dryness which there is supposed to be Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flowing through the Central Nervous System and I think that it gives the spine better mobility |
