What is it called?

Hi, is there anyone who can help me, I have suffered lower back and hip pain for as long as I can remember, frequent visits to my doctor ended up with me feeling like a lier as he always said he could find nothing wrong. An appointment with a new doctor and I was given a hospital appointment for xrays. When I went back for results I had nobody to look after my two year old son and was suffering with a head cold,I did'nt realy hear what he was telling me. He said I was born with an abnormality where my joint had no proper JOINT, it has worn away its own one, I just want to now what its called so I can look up more information about it, I dont feel able to approach my doctor or the hospital as I should have been listening in the first place, he also said something about it being fused, it's realy important to me to put a name to something I've been sufferring from all my life, but which most people think I'm just exaggerating. Can anybody help?

Hi, i am sorry that you have been suffering from this for so long. I think it is very important that you contact your doctor one more time. You don't have to go back if it is hard for you to arrange for child care, you can just call, or ask for your records. It is your right to know your diagnosis, and treatment.

As a physician, I know that it is hard for patients to absorb a lot of information at once, and it is perfectly normal to call, and ask again. Your pain is genuine, and you have a proven abnormality on xray. So call your doc again, and get well soon :D

i think you need to go back to the doctor. there could either be subluxation or displacement of your femoral head. femur is your thigh bone. its head should be connected to your hip. that makes it a joint. i think it would be best to go back to the doctor. because there are no medications that could stabilize your joint.

If he was talking about your spine then it is Ankylosing Spondylitis
