What causes non-specific ST-T wave abnormalities? |
I'd been having what I found out are PVC's & PAC's, which was bad enough to hear. But when I went to the cardiologist's office the day he told me that (in regard to an event monitor I used), he did an ekg in the office and said it was abnormal. I requested a copy of the ekg & his notes, which just say "non-specific ST-T wave abnormalities", and also said that I should not worry about it. I had an echocardiogram and an echo stress test, both of which were completely normal and looked good. But, the abnormal ekg is really bothering me. According to him, every ekg he's seen (& I've had multiple ekg's over the last 7 months) has shown some degree of this non-specific ST-T wave abnormality. What I want to know is, is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY AT ALL that this "abnormality" will resolve itself? I've been told that anxiety can cause it, & supposedly I have panic & anxiety disorder. Also, what causes these abnormalities? Do they increase risk of death from cardiac causes?????????????????????????? Since they are "non-specific" please don't bother at all. It is as good as NAD (nothing abnormal detected). Of course, do remain in medical supervision and follow all the directions given by the doctors regarding food, exercise, if any, very strictly and with very good discipline. dsfgsdf The non-specific ST and T wave abnormalities are just that NON-SPECIFIC, and usually indicate nothing of concern, especially in a young otherwise healthy adult. Non specific st segment changes is seen on any computer readout of an ekg with anything even slightly normal. |
