Advice on Abdominal Pain? |
I'm looking for advice on abdominal pain. For the last few days I've had an achy dull pain across the upper part of my abdomen. The pain is not focused on one side nor does it extend to my back. At first I thought it might be muscle strain like from situps but I can't pin it to any activity. It varies in intensity seemingly at random throughout the day. It was painful enough to wake me up this morning but it wasn't sharp and I was able to return to sleep and right now it is so faint that it would almost be better to describe it as discomfort than pain. I have not been experiencing any other gastrointestinal problems with this pain, everything else is "regular". Online sources suggest it might be an ulcer but the pain isn't burning and I think I'm too young (mid 20s) and my life isn't stressful. Anyone have any suggestions of what this is? The pain is light enough that I can ignore it for the most part. How long should I give it to resolve itself before contacting a doctor? I should probably mention pregnancy isn't a possibility. It could be gallstones. Make an appt with your doctor asap. I would go to a doctor ASAP because it could be a number of different things like a cyst or olcer.. or even a urinary track infection, sometimes you will have abdominal pain with an infection like that and maybe you just don't have the other symptoms yet. Either way, it's your health, so see a doc!! i think i've had what you're talking about and if it's the same thing then I know what you're going through. for me it usually is because my bra is on too tight...(tmi??) but it does go away. i don't know how to get rid of it but watch it and if it doesn't go away in a day or two...go see a doctor see a doctor and put ben gay cream I don't think there is a way to resolve it before seeing a dr. I recommend that you go immediately to a doctor. The longer you let symptoms like that go without medical attention, the worse whatever it is could get. DO NOT LET IT GO! Well, first you need to go see a doctor. They can tell you what it is and what you can do to make it better. (if it is an ulser, you need to get help right away. my friends grandfather died from not getting help on the ulser..it exploded in his tummy) Please go to the doctor. Do you have a gallbladder? That can be very painful when it goes bad. Mine was but it wasn't constant. There are just too many things it could be. Try taking a medicine called GAS X because I've had horrible pain and it turned out to be air in my belly. But, really, go to the doctor. A) you are never too young for an ulcer - many ulcers are caused by a bacteria NOT by stress. Sounds like an ulcer to me and stress isn't always the cause , there is 2 kinds of ulcers too , and burning is not a symptom ever1 experiences , I have ulcers and the pain is the same as you described , mine is a peptic ulcer ,I ignored the warning signs , until I woke up throwing blood so please see a doc soon, bleeding ulcers made me very ill , I wont ignore the symptoms again that's for sure. Not sure what it can be. Maybe just a torn or overextended muscle but if it's not radiating anywhere.. well there are so many things... try this.. it is a symptom checker, maybe it will help.. if it keeps up, go to the doctor and watch to see if anything else, even if it is something small, shows up... Good luck and hope it is nothing... Since you mention upper, it makes me think maybe its your gull bladder, I know it reeally hurts there when you eat certain foods, and do certain things. |
