What can cause abdominal swelling and pain? |
I have had constant pain in the abdomen for about 2 days. It started with lower abdominal pain then fainting and vomiting... that subsided... then the pain turned to stabbing pains, then I had stomach spasms, I went to the doctor that is what they said they were..... Now it's a day later and I have abdominal swelling (all over abdominal region, which is twice as large as usual) and pain (lower pain), it's hard to walk and stand up straight, what could this be, should I be conserned ? (I can't go to the dr untill tomorrow) These symptoms could be due to (partial) small bowel obstruction. Other (and less concerning causes) are of course also possible. Appendix, or Ruptured Appendix. You would want to get to a hospital soon. If you have ruptured Appendix thats poison fluid and can die. I had a Doctor tell me I had the flu but my appendix needed to be removed. They did an emergency surgery, they didn't know how I lived. Now I've had 6 more operation since. Best get it checked out to be safe than sorry. ER is a good thing. have you been having regular bowel movements because severe constipation can cause similar symptoms I would imagine have you tried to lay quietly on your side and maybe place a warm heat pack on your tummy for now at least until you can get to your physician don't put off your appointment even if your symptoms happen to subside in my opinion this is something that your doctor should be aware of and you should take this serious because pain means fix me... |
