Severe upper abdominal pain, lower middle chest....?

i just recently began having severe upper abdominal pain. it comes like its stabbing pain, and then goes away. i started taking tums extra strength and it immediately stops. then will come back 30 min or more later. it is a stabbing pain. its been 2 days now. last night, it actually stopped. i had no pain at all but then started up today again. i started to drink water and still feel the pain but now after the pain starts to end, i feel like a rumble...

i have no gas, sometimes burping, normal bowel movements.

any idea what this could be? its NEVER happened before. i am 20, male.

just to clear things up on 'location'
it is LITERALLY, right in the middle. it is not to the right or to the left. it feels tight in the middle.

Diagnosing things on-line isn't a very good idea

Is it to one side more than the other?.. I would definitely go to the doctor. Left side pain can be pancreatitis right side gallbladder complications, and middle is usually indigestion or gastritis. Regardless go to your doctor asap.

GERD or gallbladder or ulcer. Go to see a GI doc, the doc can take a good look at you. Get well ;)
