Lower abdominal pain. no jokes please..?

i have pain in my lower abdominal area and towards the private part.. it hurts when i urinate, when have sexual intercourse, and just in general. its like a sharp pain. i lose sleep sometimes because it hurts so much. i went to the doctor and they said nothing was wrong except an infection but they gave me medication for it, but the symptoms just come back. what am i supposed to do. which doctor do i go to?

i went to the gyn twice and they gave me anti bio, but the symtoms came back a few months later..

and it hurts i think by my bladder area, but it wasnt a urinary tract infection or bladder infection.....

See your gynecologist. If they found an infection and cured it with medication and it returned, you may have a "ping pong" infection with your partner. He has it too without severe symptoms and reinfects you. Ask your doctor if you both need to be treated..

hi, yes it does sound like an infection, one poss cause is that you may off become immune to the anti botics hes given you.

If your not finishing your tablets thats why, they need to be all taken to work!

I would poss narrow out certain drinks and foods they may be causing it?? acidy stuff. I try and drink no alcohol as i get it from that!

its horrible i know but go to docs and say u need to try different medication

I would call a gastroenterologist about this. Is it a cramp or a dull pain? My best friend gets a UTI whenever she has intercourse and has to take macrodid.

A gastroenterologist would be able to help, I wuld think. Good luck!

Get back and be persistent about your complaint...it could be any number of things. Pain is an indication of something and it is up to you to let the doctor know, again and again, if necessary. Sounds like you need a referal to a ob/gyn guy or urologist.

You need to go back to the doctor. Sometimes the antibiotics they give you do not work on a SPECIFIC infection, or the dosage was not high enough to fix it. GO BACK TODAY.

go to ur doctor he should take it from there and see why there is no change his/her diagnosis might have been different to what u have or new symptoms or stages of a certain diseae developed .. go speak to him/her and see why the drugs didnt work .. noone can help u here .. if u wanna speak to a urologist or a genecologist do that but here in the UK ur doctor should refer u to them first

Dear
Iyour infection is still there

-Drink plenty of fluids.
-Urinate regularly during the day. Empty your bladder completely each time.
-Keep the vaginal area clean. Wipe from front to back after a bowel movement.
-Urinate before and after intercourse.
-Wear cotton underwear, which allows better air circulation than nylon. Wear pantyhose that have a cotton crotch.
-Avoid tight clothes in the genital area, such as control-top pantyhose and tight jeans. Do not wear a wet bathing suit for long periods of time.

And avoid dryness during the intercouse..

If you have visited your ob/gyn they should do a swab of your vagina, to test for bacteria and or organisms. You should be specific and ask what they have found on the culture growth. If you have an STD they can and will treat you for it, BUT you should have your partner treated as well, it is possible that your partner has an STD as well and will continue to re-infect you unless he is treated as well. Other causes of pain could be a urinary tract infection, you should have your urine sent for culture. A simple over the counter treatment is drinking cranberry juice. But if you are having pain with sex that is called dyspareunia you can look that up. An important question to ask is if you have a fever, this could be a result of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and needs to be treated with antibiotics and if not appropriately treated can lead to problems with having children in the future. See your OB doc and discuss your concerns.

I'd encourage you to get a second opinion. Ask about the possibility of endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease. Both problems could account for your symptoms. Endometriosis is often overlooked.
